Christine Tarquinio Inspires with Hopeful Anthem ‘New Year’s Day’

Independent pop artist, singing teacher, and dedicated mother Christine Tarquinio returned with a new single titled “New Year’s Day”. Known for her honest and meaningful lyrics paired with catchy melodies, Christine continues to be a beloved figure in the Melbourne music scene. Teaming up with production alchemist Daniel Nieberg, who produced, mixed, and mastered the track, “New Year’s Day” beautifully captures the enthusiasm and reflection that accompany the arrival of a new year.
Christine masterfully conveys the sense of hope and expectation that infuses everyone’s New Year’s resolutions, only to be tempered by the inevitable return to our regular routines. This duality is reflected in the song’s growth and evolution, mirroring Christine’s own journey through a series of profound life events over the past few months.
“I wrote ‘New Year’s Day’ at the beginning of this year, feeling like nothing had changed despite the new calendar. But as the months have gone on, I’ve had moments that have truly altered how I appreciate life’s little things. This song reflects both the hope and the reality that new year’s bring,” Christine shares.

Drawing inspiration from artists like Natalie Imbruglia, Gwen Stefani, and Jewel, Christine channels her everyday experiences as a mum and wife into her music. Her style, described as honest and open, resonates with the raw emotions of Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Billie Eilish, and Lana Del Rey. Her music exudes a sense of love and genuineness, making it both relatable and fresh.
Beyond her music, Christine is passionate about teaching singing and coaching her young daughter’s soccer team. She also encourages her son’s musicality, supporting his involvement in school productions. Looking ahead, Christine aims to release more singles and explore diverse soundscapes while maintaining her independence as a musician. As she approaches nearly ten years since her first release, Christine eagerly anticipates the next decade of her musical journey.

EMEREE’s Cinematic Pivot in ‘Eyesore’ from Pop Star to Pop Assassin

EMEREE doesn’t just make music—she curates moments. Her latest single “Eyesore” is a cinematic, sarcastic scorcher that sets a new tone for the rising Australian powerhouse. From the candy-coated production to the horror-tinged DIY music video, EMEREE is creating her own genre: camp pop noir.
The single is a masterclass in balancing artistry with attitude. Co-created with Christian Tjandrawinata, “Eyesore” proves EMEREE isn’t here to play safe. She plays sharp, with razor-lined harmonies and lyricism that stabs with a smile. It’s not just catchy—it’s calculated. The beat bounces, the vocals glide, but it’s the burn in the lines that lingers.
Visually, EMEREE doubles down. The music video is a bloody wink to 80s slasher films, with a narrative as satirical as it is symbolic. She doesn’t just kill her ex on screen—she kills the whole trope. Pop stars often tell stories of heartbreak. EMEREE turns it into performance art.
EMEREE says, “Eyesore” is the anthem for anyone who’s ever dated someone who treated them horribly and just wasn’t hot enough to get away with it.”
EMEREE is making noise for all the right reasons—and with creative backing from CAA and sessions alongside Nile Rodgers and Invisible Men, she’s not just rising. She’s plotting her pop empire. “Eyesore” is both a warning shot and a love letter to anyone who’s ever made revenge their aesthetic.
It’s the start of something bold—and we’re already obsessed.
