Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson Take ‘Calm Down’ to Colin Cowherd’s The Volume
One of sports media’s favorite group chats has a new home. Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson announced on October 8 that their podcast “Calm Down with Erin and Charissa” is joining The Volume, Colin Cowherd’s digital sports network, which will now handle the show’s ad sales, production and distribution.
The two FOX Sports stars launched “Calm Down” in February 2021 with iHeartMedia and have since released more than 400 episodes, mixing NFL life — Andrews on the league’s top broadcast team, Thompson hosting studio coverage and Prime Video’s Thursday night package — with pop culture, relationships and the unfiltered conversations they say they’d have if nobody were listening. Guests over the years have ranged from Kevin Hart to Wayne Gretzky and Ken Jeong.
“Calm Down has always been about real conversations with our friends and our listeners, and The Volume gets that,” Andrews said. “We’re excited to grow the show with a team that believes in what we’ve built.” Thompson added: “I’m so grateful to be back in Colin Cowherd’s orbit. The Volume is the podcast house you want to hang out in — the dinner party you want an invite to because no matter who you’re sitting next to, you know it’s going to be a good time.”
The move reunites the duo with a longtime FOX colleague — all three have spent more than a decade under the same network roof — and slots “Calm Down” into a Volume lineup that already includes Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay,” “Nightcap” and “The Draymond Green Show.” Cowherd said he “could not be more excited to bring two of the most recognizable names in sports and entertainment to The Volume,” and the network hopes the show will keep growing its female audience. The hosts also celebrated the news on the podcast itself, in an episode cheekily billed as “BREAKING NEWS about Calm Down.”

Billy Porter Opens a Faith-and-Identity Conversation Series as First Guest of ‘This Is Our Story’
A new monthly conversation series is making room for the stories people are rarely asked to tell in full. “This Is Our Story,” hosted by Seth Pinnock — founder of the UK charity Symphony Co. — launched October 20 from Symphony Co. and In Details Studios, exploring culture, faith, sexuality, identity and the life-shaping stories in between.
The inaugural guest sets the tone: Billy Porter, the Emmy, Grammy and three-time Tony Award winner, sits down with Pinnock for an open conversation about growing up in the Pentecostal church, enduring bullying, and the long road through faith, healing and forgiveness.
Porter’s reflections anchor the episode. “Forgiveness is for me,” he says in the conversation. “It’s not forgive and forget. It’s forgive and move forward.” It is the kind of unguarded exchange the series is built to hold — personal history examined without spectacle, by a host whose own work through Symphony Co. centers community and young people’s stories.
As a monthly series, “This Is Our Story” is positioned as a slow conversation in a fast medium: one guest, one story, and the space to tell it properly. With Porter as its first voice, it opens with a story that moves from the church pews of Pittsburgh to the highest stages in entertainment — and finds healing, not bitterness, at the center of it.
That is precisely the ground Pinnock wants the series to hold. The conversations are structured around the moments that shape a life rather than the highlights that sell one, and Porter’s episode — part testimony, part masterclass in survival — gives the young series an unmistakable statement of intent from its very first installment.
