Funk Tribu Drops New Single Voodoo on His Label TRIBE
Funk Tribu is closing out October with a new single called Voodoo, out now on his own label TRIBE. The timing of the release lines up with Halloween weekend, and the darker and more club focused edge of the track fits the occasion without straying far from the trance rooted sound he has built his name on.
Voodoo leans on a driving kick pattern and a topline built to stick, pairing melodic euphoria with the kind of raw energy that has become a signature of his productions. Rather than reinventing his formula, the track sharpens it. The record is built for the biggest moments of a set and for late night dancefloors rather than casual listening, and it keeps his emotionally driven approach at the centre of the sound.
The producer, who was born in Colombia and is now based in Berlin, has spent the past few years turning a distinctive spin on contemporary trance into a global following. His breakout records have racked up hundreds of millions of streams between them, and that momentum has carried him to stages including Tomorrowland, Awakenings, EDC and Dour. He also made a point of showing up at Amsterdam Dance Event this year, playing four secret sets and linking up for back to back sets with Pegassi, KI/KI and Marlon Hoffstadt.
His catalogue already includes collaborations with Armin van Buuren and remix work for Boys Noize, so a return to his own imprint for Voodoo reads as a deliberate move to keep building TRIBE as a vehicle for his own vision. TRIBE, the label and creative collective he launched in 2025, is built around community and a shared visual identity as much as the music itself, with early entries including Azul and Hold On along with releases from Afem Syko, Linds and BK. Voodoo is out now on TRIBE via all streaming platforms.

Dlala Thukzin Keeps the Fire Burning With Ninth Studio Album Ember
South African dance music producer and DJ Dlala Thukzin has released Ember, his ninth studio album. The hitmaker, who was born in Durban, returns with a bold body of work that celebrates resilience, musical evolution and the enduring influence of South African dance music.
With Ember, he continues to explore the sounds that have shaped his musical identity while pushing his production into new creative territories. The album brings together Afro House, 3-Step, EDM and contemporary African rhythms, creating a blend of styles that balances energetic moments for the dancefloor with the distinctive sounds of home. The relationship between nostalgia and innovation sits at the centre of the project, as he pays tribute to the sounds and moments that helped shape South African dance culture while showing how those influences can evolve into something new.
One of the standout moments on the project is Sobuye Sbonane, featuring Zeh McGeba. The track reimagines an iconic classic by DJ Bongz, giving it a fresh electronic direction while preserving the emotional connection associated with the original. Rather than simply recreating a familiar record, Dlala Thukzin introduces a new interpretation designed to connect with longtime fans and a younger generation of listeners at the same time, and the contribution of Zeh McGeba brings the collaboration fully to life.
The album also arrives during an important period in his career, as he continues to expand his international presence. Following a four date tour in Australia and major live appearances abroad, he is taking his sound to wider audiences while remaining connected to his Durban roots. Known for his fusion of Gqom, Amapiano, Afro Tech and electronic music, he has built a reputation for distinctive rhythms and productions that resonate with audiences across different markets. His catalogue includes Phuze, iPlan, Permanent Music and 031 Studio Camp. Ember is available now on digital platforms, and as its title suggests, the fire behind his creativity continues to burn.
