Gallup Finds Global Worker Engagement at Its Lowest Since 2020 in 2026 Report
The world’s workers are checked out at a rate not seen since the pandemic’s first year. Global employee engagement fell to 20% in 2025 — its lowest level since 2020 and the second consecutive annual decline — according to Gallup’s State of the Global Workplace: 2026 Report, as covered by GCN. Gallup’s analysis breaks the workforce into 20% engaged, 64% not engaged and 16% actively disengaged, and estimates low engagement costs the global economy $10 trillion in lost productivity, about 9% of global GDP.
The report draws on survey responses from 141,444 employed people across more than 140 countries and territories, gathered through 2025. GCN reports manager engagement dropped from 31% in 2022 to 22% in 2025, a slide Gallup ties to the global decline, and that roughly 40% of employees worldwide said they experienced a lot of stress the previous day, alongside anger (22%), sadness (23%) and loneliness (22%).
Wellbeing, Gallup reports, tells a split story. The firm says 34% of employees globally were thriving in their overall lives in 2025 — the first improvement in three years — while in the United States 47% of employees were thriving as of the second quarter of 2026, with more employees struggling than thriving. Gallup also reports that only 21% of U.S. employees in 2026 strongly agree their organization cares about their overall wellbeing, tying the record low, and that 27% of U.S. full-time employees say they feel burned out very often or always.
Gallup’s wellbeing coverage identifies the most common root causes of burnout as unfair treatment at work, unmanageable workload, unclear communication from managers, lack of manager support and unreasonable time pressure. The firm reports thriving U.S. employees were 2.2 times as likely to be engaged in early 2026 and 46% less likely to report burning out very often or always.

It’s A Secret Med Spa Celebrates Houston Grand Opening on September 24
It’s A Secret Med Spa welcomes Houston to its new Post Oak location
It’s A Secret Med Spa celebrated the grand opening of its Houston location at 1800 Post Oak Blvd., Suite 6130, with exclusive daytime specials and a Grand Opening Party on Thursday, September 24, 2026.
Located at BLVD Place in the heart of Houston’s Uptown district, the new location officially opened earlier this summer after relocating from Washington Avenue. The celebration marked the next chapter for It’s A Secret in Houston and gave the community an opportunity to explore the new space, meet the Houston team and learn about the med spa’s full range of aesthetic and wellness services.
First-time clients could celebrate throughout the day with 50% off Botox when booked in advance. The Grand Opening Party followed from 6 to 9 p.m., featuring exclusive offers such as 20% off injectables and skincare, 60% off laser hair removal and up to $2,000 off treatments.
The evening event also featured specialty drinks, light bites, a DJ, giveaways and raffle prizes. Guests had the opportunity to meet the Houston providers and learn more about the treatments and services available at the new location.
Attendees could also participate in an interactive Grand Opening Passport Experience. Upon arrival, guests received a passport and visited stations located throughout the med spa’s treatment rooms. At each stop, they could meet providers and learn about featured services. Guests who completed their passports unlocked additional event rewards and raffle opportunities, including the chance to receive 10 complimentary units of Botox to be scheduled and redeemed at a later date.
“We’ve been looking forward to officially celebrating this location with Houston since we opened our doors this summer,” said Garrett Gay, Vice President of It’s A Secret Med Spa. “Post Oak is exactly where we wanted to be, and this event is our opportunity to welcome the community into the space, introduce them to our team and give them the full It’s A Secret experience.”
The Houston location offers It’s A Secret Med Spa’s complete range of aesthetic and wellness services, including injectables, skin rejuvenation, laser treatments, body contouring, wellness offerings and personalized treatment plans.
