Music Artist Maffmatix Drops “Experience” Music Video
Maffmatix flexes his lyrical prowess in a fun-loving, chill way on “Experience.” He enlisted music artist Keivyn Graves to feature on “Experience.” Keivyn Graves spits memorable, clever bars that blend well with the vibe of the song. Vocalist Atiya added her euphonious vocals to the record, which serve as the chorus and really give “Experience” an even fuller sound. Maffmatix not only shows off what he can do lyrically, but he also demonstrates his production chops as he produced “Experience” as well. “Believe it or not, Atiya’s chorus was recorded on her phone and sent to me that way.” Maffmatix continues, “I just produced the h*ll out of them.”
The music video for “Experience” makes the song come to life and emphasizes the theme of the record. The music video has happy-go-lucky, sultry, and care-free visuals. It perfectly encapsulates what “Experience” is all about. Maffmatix and the team really created a song for the ages and one that can be listened to on any occasion. While more of a behind-the-scenes player DJ Design’s (aka Keith Griego) work has had a sizable imprint on the history of modern hip-hop. As a DJ/Beatmaker and visual artist he has contributed production and art since the late 90’s for notables including The Beastie Boys, Madlib, A.G., Foreign Legion, Rasco, Peanut Butter Wolf and Phat Kat.
As a visual artist, his high point of work with the label was his design of the 12” vinyl cover for Lootpack member Madlib’s side project Quasimoto. The cover for “Microphone Mathematics” featured Design/Griego’s visual representation of Lord Quas as a sort of alien aardvark, which was adopted by the artist and has since become one of the most iconic and enduring
characters in the game today.
