Nii Soul’s Story: “I might have led so many people astray if I was earlier a Pastor”.

Ghanaian gospel musician Nii Soul, also known as Joseph Ankrah, shared his journey from secular to gospel music and his initial desire to become a Reverend during an interview on Onua TV’s Onua Showtime with Nana Ama Mcbrown on Sunday, December 10, 2023.
Nii explained that he had planned to do God’s work for a long time but, due to stubbornness, he deviated from that path. Although he was a church boy. Despite completing his first year in Local Preachers School with the intention of finishing the second year and enrolling in Trinity College to become a Reverend in a Methodist Church, he changed his mind after the second year, opting to participate in Ghana’s TV3 Mentor. This decision led him away from God as he became addicted to secular songs and activities.
He revealed that “knowing God now and looking at my life back then, I’ve discovered that I don’t know God yet has passion to work for him.”
Realizing his disconnection from God, Nii now understands God better. He admitted that if he had become the Reverend he aspired to be in the past, he might have led many people astray. Despite this, Nii recognized that everything in his journey worked together for good, leading him to follow God after experiencing the worldly lifestyle.
Currently serving as a Worship leader at the late Prophet T.B Joshua’s Church, Synagogue Of All Nations, Lagos, Nii has released his first album titled “Forecast Into The Past.” The 13-track album focuses on Nii’s story of transitioning “from the world to the word.”
