Nintendo Indie World Showcase Puts Witchbrook, R.E.P.O. and Sword of the Sea on the Switch 2 Calendar
Nintendo’s latest Indie World Showcase spotlighted a diverse lineup of independent games coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch this year and into 2027, with new release dates, surprise demos and one title players can download the very next day.
The fun starts right away. Free demos arrived on Nintendo eShop today for four games: Haunted Paws, a paranormal co-op puppy adventure from LazyFlock; Petal Runner, a pixel-powered open-world RPG from Nano Park Studios and iam8bit Presents; RACCOIN: Chaos Max Edition, a roguelike coin-pusher from Playstack and Doraccoon; and Winds of Viridia, a newly revealed action-adventure from Shark Jump. Bao Bao’s Cozy Cleaning Services, a panda pressure-washing game from Destroyer Doggo, launches today as well.
The closest release belongs to Sword of the Sea from Fictions and Giant Squid, the studio behind ABZÛ and The Pathless. The atmospheric adventure, in which players ride a magical Hoversword across sand and sea to restore a lost ocean, launches for Nintendo Switch 2 on October 29.
Several dates now anchor the months ahead. RACCOIN: Chaos Max Edition and Lost and Found Co. arrive November 10, followed by Spirit Crossing, the collaborative life sim MMO from Spry Fox, the makers of Cozy Grove, on November 16 as a console exclusive for both systems. Slime Rancher 2 from Monomi Park launches on Nintendo Switch 2 in January 2027, and Witchbrook, Chucklefish’s spellbinding four-player witch life sim set in the seaside town of Mossport, follows on January 28, 2027.
The 2027 calendar fills out quickly from there. Dumpster Gang, Curve Games and Coyote House Games’ chaotic raccoon co-op sandbox, scurries onto Nintendo Switch 2 in March 2027, with My Arms Are Longer Now set for March 11 and Super Battle Golf teeing off March 25. Haunted Paws launches in May 2027, Threads of Time brings its time-spanning turn-based RPG in Summer 2027, and R.E.P.O., Tenjutsu, Kitsune: The Journey of Adashino and City of None round out a lineup that stretches across cozy adventures, intense action and everything in between.

NBA 2K27 and Football Manager 27 Join Apple Arcade in November
Apple Arcade’s sports lineup keeps growing. Apple has announced that NBA 2K27 and Football Manager 27 will both join the subscription service in November, adding the world’s biggest basketball game and its most respected football management series to a catalogue that has quietly become a strong home for sports fans.
NBA 2K27’s Arcade edition brings the full 2K basketball experience to iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV, and this year’s edition includes WNBA teams, continuing the push to put the women’s game front and center in the series. The timing could hardly be better for 2K: NBA 2K27 launched in September and has already become the best-selling game of 2026 in the United States, according to Circana sales data.
Football Manager 27’s arrival follows the pattern set last year, when Football Manager 26 Touch launched on Apple Arcade on November 4, 2025. The Touch edition streamlines Sports Interactive’s famously deep management simulation for quicker sessions while keeping the transfer market, tactics and career progression that have made the series a fixture for football fans worldwide.
The two newcomers join a sports section that has filled out considerably this year. Madden NFL 27 Arcade Edition arrived in August, and the service also carries NFL Retro Bowl ’27, the officially licensed pixel-art football game, PGA TOUR Pro Golf for golf fans, and Retro Bowl College+, the college football spin-off of the Retro Bowl series.
Apple Arcade is priced at $8.99 per month in Canada and can be shared with up to five family members, and it is bundled into every Apple One plan. For sports gamers, the pitch is simple: a rotating library of premium annual sports titles with no additional purchases, playable across Apple devices.
