SOPHIE SHREDZ REVEALS “EYEZ ON ME” MUSIC VIDEO
Emerging hyper-pop act SOPHIE SHREDZ unveils the music video for her explosive new single, “EYEZ ON ME.”
The music video was directed and edited by MK Kopp. “I wanted to work with a small team that I knew personally to help create my vision,” Sophie explains. “I wanted to come out of the gates with delivering something fierce and femme for my first video.”
Revealing a new layer of the expansive world of SOPHIE SHREDZ, the “EYEZ ON ME” video is exuberant and jam-packed with personality. Hoping to reflect the sentiment of the song and the idea of all eyes being on her, Sophie and MK landed on the idea of having an all-female basement fight club. “Somehow we convinced a bunch of girls to fight in a basement with me for 4 hours. It was perfect and honestly the kind of thing I would accidentally stumble into,” she quips.
SOPHIE SHREDZ is the project of New Jersey-born, Nashville-based vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist Sophie Ruggiero. She was raised listening to classic rock greats like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and Heart, and became an avid guitar player by the age of 7. While her current sound certainly draws influence from the experimental electronic world of hyper-pop, she also imbues her songs with a tapestry of classic rock influences, like show-stopping guitar solos and driving percussive elements.
Sophie is redefining what it means to be a modern day pop star — she’s bold, evocative, openly queer, and a fierce advocate for female empowerment. Her music reflects her own personal and artistic growth and experiences, making it both relatable and authentic. She hopes her music will inspire others to pursue their dreams and unlock a new level of confidence within themselves.

Clarity Liao Confronts Romantic Anxiety and Emotional Chaos on Vibrant Single ‘Lose’
Emerging singer-songwriter Clarity Liao has officially stepped fully into her solo era with her sharp new single, ‘Lose.’ Serving as the focus track from her forthcoming debut solo EP, Dear…, the release anchors a seven-song collection of intimate, unmailed musical letters exploring love, jealousy, rejection, loneliness, and the complicated process of finally letting go.
An upbeat pop track at its core, ‘Lose’ captures the disorienting emotional chaos of fearing that someone you care for is falling in love with somebody else.
Born from Liao’s personal heartache over a boy she deeply cared for, ‘Lose’ confronts the raw jealousy that surfaced when another girl appeared to embody everything Liao feared she wasn’t. What begins as projection, anxiety, and obsessive comparison gradually transforms into quiet acceptance as Liao faces the painful possibility that the relationship she desperately wants may never exist.
Conceptually, the track moves between indie pop, modern R&B, bedroom pop, contemporary singer-songwriter arrangements, and modern doo-wop, adopting its own distinct sonic personality while staying grounded in Liao’s candid lyricism.
Interestingly, the song’s high-energy arrangement was born from an unexpected studio pivot. Originally, Liao envisioned the piece as a sparse, Adele-inspired piano ballad that would leave its emotional vulnerability completely exposed.
Once in the recording studio, however, the production took a dynamic turn. Upbeat drums and prominent electric guitars transformed the track into a high-energy pop record, creating a playful, ironic contrast against lyrics filled with insecurity and emotional turmoil.
“This song is one of my favorites,” Liao explains openly. “It shows my jealousy and madness in a fun, upbeat way. At first I was doubting the upbeat drums and electric guitar, aiming for a soft mellow vibe, but the more I stuck with the process, the more I understood what this letter was really trying to explain to the receiver.”
Throughout ‘Lose’, Liao navigates the full spectrum of relationship anxiety: the thrill of possibility, the obsession with wanting to be noticed, the sting of comparison, the loneliness of rejection, and, ultimately, the realization that some feelings must simply be released.
Writing songs since the tender age of seven, Liao built her reputation as a formidable musical force as the principal songwriter for the band Navillera, penning material across the group’s seven singles. Their hit 2024 debut track, “Too Young,” claimed the Yamaha National Best Popular Music Award, while her original composition “I Need You” took top honors at the YMS 2025 National Composers Competition.
Now stepping forward entirely under her own name, Liao uses ‘Lose’ to establish a solo identity that refuses to be boxed into a single genre. Drawing inspiration from modern icons like Bruno Mars, Regina Song, Olivia Rodrigo, and Adele, she moves freely between different musical landscapes according to whatever emotion her letters demand.
With ‘Lose,’ Clarity Liao delivers a single that is as cathartic as it is catchy, proving that even the messiest, most uncomfortable human emotions can be transformed into unforgettable pop moments.
