From an early age, Bria has been driven by a deep passion for the game, inspired by her family’s basketball legacy. As she continues to develop her shooting and ball-handling, Bria is building her own legacy as a standout player in the AAU circuit.
What AAU team do you play for, and what position do you usually play?
I play for Ohio Elite – Jordan. I play point guard.
How did you first get involved with AAU basketball, and what drew you to it?
My dad put me in AAU, and I was inspired by my older brother who played basketball.
What’s the biggest difference between school ball and AAU ball in your experience?
I feel like AAU games are played at a faster pace than school ball games.
What’s been your favorite tournament or city to compete in so far?
I love playing in tournaments at Spooky Nook Champion Mill in Hamilton, Ohio.

Describe a standout moment or game during your AAU career that you’ll never forget.
When I won a tournament championship game by scoring a layup at the buzzer.
How do you mentally and physically prepare for long tournament weekends?
I listen to music, and I stay in the gym.
What’s your pregame routine when you’re traveling for an AAU event?
I like to lock in and focus on the game ahead.
What role do you play on your AAU team—scorer, leader, defender, spark plug?
I am the scorer, leader, defender, and the spark plug for my team. I try to lead by example and make my teammates better.
Who’s the toughest opponent you’ve faced on the AAU circuit, and what made them tough?
Western PA Bruins, and it was their size and depth in the post.
How has AAU basketball helped you grow as a player and as a person?
It has helped me become a great team player, and it makes me a more confident person.
What’s the most challenging part about playing on the road so often?
The long car rides are boring.

Do you have a favorite gym, city, or showcase event you’ve played in? Why?
I love playing in NEO Youth Elite Camp in Cleveland, Ohio.
What kind of impact has your AAU coach had on your development?
My AAU coach is my dad, and he’s been huge for my development because he always puts me up against great competition.
How do you handle pressure when college coaches or scouts are watching?
I just focus on playing the game the right way and making plays that will help my team win.
What’s your mindset when you’re coming off the bench vs. starting a game?
My mindset is always the same whether I’m starting or coming off the bench. I’m focused on making plays and working as hard as I can when I’m out there.
What are your goals for this AAU season—personally and as a team?
Personally, I want to be more efficient, and as a team, I want to win as many tournaments as possible.
What’s one area of your game you’re locked in on improving right now?
Shooting form and consistency.
Do you model your game after any pro or college players? Who and why?
No, I’m just me. I’m something different. I’m the first of my kind. I’m building my own legacy.
What’s your go-to move or skill that sets you apart on the court?
Ball handling.
What advice would you give a young player just starting their AAU journey?
Don’t give up.
