Kadeem Hardison and Darryl M. Bell Reunite for ‘A Different World View’ Rewatch Podcast

Dwayne Wayne and Ron Johnson are heading back to Hillman — this time with microphones. On October 8, iHeartMedia and Charlamagne Tha God’s Black Effect Podcast Network announced “A Different World View,” a new weekly rewatch podcast hosted by Kadeem Hardison and Darryl M. Bell, premiering October 15 with new episodes every Thursday.

The series reunites the co-stars nearly four decades after they first played the beloved duo on “A Different World.” Episode by episode, Hardison and Bell will rewatch the original series, share behind-the-scenes stories and unpack why the groundbreaking sitcom still resonates — while also spotlighting the new Netflix sequel series, in which both actors reprise their roles. The podcast’s first special guest is a fitting one: legendary producer and director Debbie Allen.

The timing is no accident. The podcast arrives amid the sequel series’ breakout success — it has already been renewed for a second season — and gives the two hosts room to roam beyond the rewatch, into candid conversations on entertainment, pop culture, sports and whatever else has their attention.

“I am beyond excited to finally launch the ‘A Different World View with Darryl and Kadeem’ podcast,” Bell said. “Kadeem and I have only wanted to do this for over 25 years, and the time is now! I also could not be happier or think of better partners than Charlamagne tha God, his team at The Black Effect and iHeartMedia.” Dollie S. Bishop, president of the Black Effect Podcast Network, added: “‘A Different World’ had an undeniable impact on Black culture, and Kadeem and Darryl are such an important part of that legacy. We’re excited to give them a platform to bring their friendship and comedy to listeners everywhere.”

Billy Porter Opens a Faith-and-Identity Conversation Series as First Guest of ‘This Is Our Story’

A new monthly conversation series is making room for the stories people are rarely asked to tell in full. “This Is Our Story,” hosted by Seth Pinnock — founder of the UK charity Symphony Co. — launched October 20 from Symphony Co. and In Details Studios, exploring culture, faith, sexuality, identity and the life-shaping stories in between.

The inaugural guest sets the tone: Billy Porter, the Emmy, Grammy and three-time Tony Award winner, sits down with Pinnock for an open conversation about growing up in the Pentecostal church, enduring bullying, and the long road through faith, healing and forgiveness.

Porter’s reflections anchor the episode. “Forgiveness is for me,” he says in the conversation. “It’s not forgive and forget. It’s forgive and move forward.” It is the kind of unguarded exchange the series is built to hold — personal history examined without spectacle, by a host whose own work through Symphony Co. centers community and young people’s stories.

As a monthly series, “This Is Our Story” is positioned as a slow conversation in a fast medium: one guest, one story, and the space to tell it properly. With Porter as its first voice, it opens with a story that moves from the church pews of Pittsburgh to the highest stages in entertainment — and finds healing, not bitterness, at the center of it.

That is precisely the ground Pinnock wants the series to hold. The conversations are structured around the moments that shape a life rather than the highlights that sell one, and Porter’s episode — part testimony, part masterclass in survival — gives the young series an unmistakable statement of intent from its very first installment.
