Ronald Acuña Jr. Steps to the Mic as Host of ‘La Bestia,’ a New Spanish-Language Podcast

Ronald Acuña Jr. has a new lineup spot: podcast host. On September 16, iHeartMedia’s My Cultura Podcast Network and Rimas Sports debuted “La Bestia with Ronald Acuña Jr.,” a weekly Spanish-language podcast built around the life, career and mindset of one of baseball’s biggest stars, with new episodes every Wednesday.

In each episode, Acuña sits down with friends, family and personal heroes to get at the heart of Latino identity — familia, hustle, music, pressure, pride and the mentality it takes to become “La Bestia” in your own life. The first episode features Acuña’s father, and the season’s guest list spans the worlds of baseball and music, including his brother Luisangel Acuña, Gleyber Torres, Maikel Garcia and Vladimir Guerrero Jr., along with rapper and singer Guaynaa, internet personality Marko Terzo and mentalist Michel Gallero.

The show is the first to come out of a new partnership between My Cultura and Rimas Sports, the Puerto Rican agency co-founded by Bad Bunny and Rimas Entertainment executives, which represents more than 60 elite athletes and will co-produce original podcasts and content with the network. It is a fitting pairing for Acuña, the former Rookie of the Year and 2025 Comeback Player of the Year, who has long worn his Venezuelan roots as loudly as his game.

“La Bestia” is distributed by iHeartPodcasts and is available on the iHeartRadio app and everywhere podcasts are heard, with full video episodes on iHeart and YouTube.

For My Cultura, the series is a flagship sports title: a Spanish-language show built around a generational talent who insists on telling his story in his own language, on his own terms — with his family in the room.

Billy Porter Opens a Faith-and-Identity Conversation Series as First Guest of ‘This Is Our Story’

A new monthly conversation series is making room for the stories people are rarely asked to tell in full. “This Is Our Story,” hosted by Seth Pinnock — founder of the UK charity Symphony Co. — launched October 20 from Symphony Co. and In Details Studios, exploring culture, faith, sexuality, identity and the life-shaping stories in between.

The inaugural guest sets the tone: Billy Porter, the Emmy, Grammy and three-time Tony Award winner, sits down with Pinnock for an open conversation about growing up in the Pentecostal church, enduring bullying, and the long road through faith, healing and forgiveness.

Porter’s reflections anchor the episode. “Forgiveness is for me,” he says in the conversation. “It’s not forgive and forget. It’s forgive and move forward.” It is the kind of unguarded exchange the series is built to hold — personal history examined without spectacle, by a host whose own work through Symphony Co. centers community and young people’s stories.

As a monthly series, “This Is Our Story” is positioned as a slow conversation in a fast medium: one guest, one story, and the space to tell it properly. With Porter as its first voice, it opens with a story that moves from the church pews of Pittsburgh to the highest stages in entertainment — and finds healing, not bitterness, at the center of it.

That is precisely the ground Pinnock wants the series to hold. The conversations are structured around the moments that shape a life rather than the highlights that sell one, and Porter’s episode — part testimony, part masterclass in survival — gives the young series an unmistakable statement of intent from its very first installment.
