Live Nation’s ‘SUPERFANS’ Turns Concert Obsession Into a Video Podcast, Hosted by Billboard’s Lyndsey Havens

Every artist has them: the fans who plan their year around tour dates and know every lyric cold. Live Nation and Magnet Originals are building a show around those fans — and around what happens when two of them meet. “SUPERFANS,” a new concert video podcast hosted by Billboard executive editor Lyndsey Havens, premiered Tuesday, October 27.

The format pairs two strangers who share a devotion to the same artist and takes them to a concert together, turning fandom itself into the story. The premiere episode follows Kid Cudi fans, and the season also spotlights the fan bases of Big Boi, A$AP Rocky, Peso Pluma, Stray Kids and KATSEYE — with surprise run-ins with the artists themselves teased along the way.

Havens, who covers the music business for Billboard, is a fitting guide: the show sits at the intersection of the live-music economy she reports on and the fan communities that power it. For Live Nation, the world’s largest concert promoter, “SUPERFANS” is also a natural extension of the business — a series filmed where its audiences already live, inside the shows.

The lineup itself is a map of where live music is loudest right now: legacy hip-hop with Big Boi, rap royalty with A$AP Rocky, the regional Mexican boom with Peso Pluma, and the global K-pop wave with Stray Kids and KATSEYE. By building episodes around fans rather than interviews, the series bets that the most emotional story at any concert is happening in the crowd.

“SUPERFANS” is available on YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts, with new episodes built around each featured artist’s fans, their stories and the concert experience of a lifetime.

Billy Porter Opens a Faith-and-Identity Conversation Series as First Guest of ‘This Is Our Story’

A new monthly conversation series is making room for the stories people are rarely asked to tell in full. “This Is Our Story,” hosted by Seth Pinnock — founder of the UK charity Symphony Co. — launched October 20 from Symphony Co. and In Details Studios, exploring culture, faith, sexuality, identity and the life-shaping stories in between.

The inaugural guest sets the tone: Billy Porter, the Emmy, Grammy and three-time Tony Award winner, sits down with Pinnock for an open conversation about growing up in the Pentecostal church, enduring bullying, and the long road through faith, healing and forgiveness.

Porter’s reflections anchor the episode. “Forgiveness is for me,” he says in the conversation. “It’s not forgive and forget. It’s forgive and move forward.” It is the kind of unguarded exchange the series is built to hold — personal history examined without spectacle, by a host whose own work through Symphony Co. centers community and young people’s stories.

As a monthly series, “This Is Our Story” is positioned as a slow conversation in a fast medium: one guest, one story, and the space to tell it properly. With Porter as its first voice, it opens with a story that moves from the church pews of Pittsburgh to the highest stages in entertainment — and finds healing, not bitterness, at the center of it.

That is precisely the ground Pinnock wants the series to hold. The conversations are structured around the moments that shape a life rather than the highlights that sell one, and Porter’s episode — part testimony, part masterclass in survival — gives the young series an unmistakable statement of intent from its very first installment.
