The Kid LAROI Finally Links With GIVĒON on ‘GET EVEN’ as His World Tour Takes Europe
Some collaborations feel overdue the moment they are announced. The Kid LAROI and GIVĒON, two of the defining young voices in melodic pop and R&B, had never appeared on a record together until “GET EVEN,” which arrived the week of September 22 with an Ayodeji-directed video. The single pairs LAROI’s raw, diaristic delivery with GIVĒON’s baritone, and it plays like a conversation neither artist could have had with anyone else.
The song has an unusual history. Both “GET EVEN” and its predecessor, the late-August single “SLEEP,” were first written for an album LAROI completed and then scrapped entirely before making his most recent full-length, BEFORE I FORGET. Revisiting that material, he decided the two songs deserved daylight after all, and both have been rolled out as stand-alone singles, each with a visual from Ayodeji, now his go-to director two videos running.
The releases arrive in the middle of a heavy touring stretch. LAROI’s A PERFECT WORLD tour opened its United Kingdom and European leg on October 27 in Birmingham, and the run continues across the continent before wrapping November 17 in the Czech Republic. It is the kind of long-haul routing that has defined his career since he broke out of Australia as a teenager and became one of pop’s most reliable arena draws.
His run with Grade A Productions and Columbia Records has been built on that consistency: emotionally direct songwriting delivered at stadium scale, with each era documented almost in real time for a fanbase that has grown up alongside him. The scrapped-album detour behind “GET EVEN” fits the pattern, an artist more interested in getting the record right than in protecting a release schedule.
With the European leg underway and another potential signature song in circulation, LAROI’s fall is shaping up as a reminder of how he got here: one honest record at a time, at very large volume.

Lil Nas X Returns With “World’s Greatest!,” a Tribute Carried by His Late Mother’s Voice
Lil Nas X returned to music on Thursday, October 1, 2026, with “World’s Greatest!,” his first new release since March 2025, and he let his late mother introduce it. A day earlier, on September 30, the artist born Montero Hill announced the single in an Instagram video built around a voicemail she had left him, urging him to keep his head up and repeat the phrase she returned to all her life: “Walk by faith, not by sight.”
The message closes the song’s six-minute video, which was directed by Phillip Youmans and filmed in Nas’s hometown of Atlanta. The visual opens with the Grammy winner rehearsing choreography in a dance studio, then moves between the artist he is today and dramatized scenes from his childhood, tracing the distance between the boy he was and the star he became. It ends with a dedication to his mother, whose voice is heard over the final moments.
Nas announced his mother’s death on August 29, sharing family photos and a short, grief-stricken tribute. She had passed away over the summer, and her encouragement, preserved in that voicemail, now frames his comeback. In his announcement, Nas wrote that her favorite phrase resonates with him more the further he moves through life, and that the song was made for her.
The release also follows a difficult and closely watched period in which the Columbia Records artist shared that he had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and had spent time in rehab, working with a therapist and psychiatrist and grounding himself between Atlanta and Los Angeles. By his own account, he has been feeling better and creating more freely, and “World’s Greatest!” plays like the sound of that recovery: uplift built on reflection rather than spectacle.
For an artist whose breakthroughs often arrived wrapped in provocation, this return is striking for its tenderness. The loudest voice on Lil Nas X’s comeback single is not his own. It is his mother’s, reminding him, and now everyone listening, not to give up.
