U2 Announces U.K. + Europe Tour Dates For Carnaval De Luz Presents: The Greatest Show On Earth World Tour 2027
Live Nation has announced U.K. and Europe dates for Carnaval De Luz Presents: The Greatest Show On Earth, a world tour that will see Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. return to select stadiums in 2027 and beyond.
The 2027 European leg will kick off in Stockholm on April 26 – with support from Wolf Alice – and will visit Amsterdam, Berlin, Lisbon, Milan and Paris, plus U.K. shows at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with dates for Spain to be announced soon.
With the first run of shows selling out instantly and additional dates added in Mexico City, São Paulo and Buenos Aires due to popular demand, 2027 dates for North America are set to be announced in the coming weeks.
U2 recently celebrated the band’s 50th anniversary on Friday, September 25, with a lunchtime show for students and teachers at their old school, Mount Temple Comprehensive, as well as a very special surprise performance on Dublin’s Grafton Street. With plans for The Greatest Show On Earth World Tour already in the works for 2028, the band is looking ahead to their all-important return home to Ireland. The Edge said: “We can’t say too much about the next leg of The Greatest Show On Earth – we’re still figuring it out – but what we can say is, we’ll be wrapping it up in Ireland. There’s nowhere else we’d want to be for that party.”

“‘The Greatest Show on Earth’? Now that’s a throwdown. It’s a dare, to ourselves as much as anyone, to try and have the best night of anybody’s life,” the band said. “A bit of showman, a bit of shaman, a riot of colour, unreasonable guitar, bass and drums, and tunes you can hold onto. Because if people are gonna show up, we certainly are.” – Bono, Edge, Adam and Larry
A new track titled “The Greatest Show On Earth” is out now. Co-written by U2 and Brian Eno, it is the third single to be taken from Carnaval De Luz. A story of lovers fighting to keep faith in each other – and faith itself. The video is directed by Anton Corbijn and was shot in the Californian desert; it satirizes the band as a religious cult where women do all the heavy lifting.
Acknowledged as one of the best live acts in the world, U2 has always – since their earliest days, including the industry-defining ZOO TV Tour which broke the mold in 1991 – consistently pushed the boundaries of live performance, with ground-breaking stage shows that embrace the latest in technology and innovation, most recently with one of the band’s most ambitious creative projects to date, a sold-out run of 40 history-making, future-defining shows at Sphere, Las Vegas. Carnaval De Luz Presents: The Greatest Show On Earth World Tour marks U2’s return to a stadium setting for a performance spectacle embracing human connection and intimacy at a grand scale, with a set list drawn from across the band’s entire catalogue; the band’s first stadium dates since wrapping the acclaimed The Joshua Tree Tour at Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium on December 15, 2019, the final stop on a tour which saw U2 play to almost 3 million fans around the world.
Tickets for the U.K. and European dates will first be available via the U2.com Subscriber Presale commencing on Monday, November 2 at 10am local time. Visa cardholders will have access to presale tickets in the EU and UK from Wednesday, November 4 at 10 a.m. local time until 10 p.m. the same day, while supply lasts. An Artist Presale will begin on Thursday, November 5. Remaining tickets will be available during the general onsale starting Friday, November 6 at 10am local time at U2.com. The Lisbon date will not be accessible via the Artist Presale.

About Carnaval De Luz
Recorded all over the place and produced by Jacknife Lee, Carnaval De Luz is a collection of 12 songs exploring themes of spirituality, friendship, freedom and endurance in the face of dark, encroaching forces. Sonically, there are echoes of the band’s most experimental work combined with some strict songwriting in the shape of “The Greatest Show On Earth,” “Glorify” and “Midnight Sunshine,” as well as the 2-minute-35-second homage to early surf-punk insolence that is “Silencio.”
The roots of Carnaval De Luz can be traced directly to U2’s two surprise-released and critically acclaimed six-track EPs of early 2026, recorded during the same creative period as the new album. Those releases, Days of Ash and Easter Lily, followed the liturgical calendar, and so Carnaval De Luz sits, stands and dances before them in timeline. Carnival, a celebration of the flesh, “carne,” before the denial that is Lent, a period of reflection, and the rebirth of Easter. The song connecting the album and two EPs is the final track on the new album, “Torn,” a duet between Bono and the late, great Dolly Parton, in what has sadly turned out to be her last recorded vocal performance. Co-written by U2, Parton and Johnny McDaid, it’s a tender country song detailing broken family ties that holds wider resonances.
Carnaval De Luz is released in the band’s 50th year, 2026, one in which U2 will have released 24 new songs. The album also sees collaborations from Brian Eno (co-writing and synthesizers on “Go (Carnaval De Luz),” “The Greatest Show on Earth” and “Can’t Stop Us Now”), Martin Garrix (co-writing on “Glorify”), and Daniel Lanois (playing pedal steel on “Torn”), with additional production from Ryan Tedder on “Silencio.”
The track listing for Carnaval De Luz is: 1. Go (Carnaval De Luz); 2. La Reina; 3. Street Of Dreams; 4. The Mirror Maker (Rosalía); 5. Superficiality; 6. If The World Is At War We Better Not Be; 7. Silencio; 8. The Greatest Show On Earth; 9. Glorify; 10. Midnight Sunshine; 11. Can’t Stop Us Now; 12. Torn (Feat. Dolly Parton).
Carnaval De Luz will be available in formats including Limited Edition Deluxe Vinyl & CD Boxsets, various Limited Edition Coloured & Bespoke Vinyl variants, Standard CD, Standard Vinyl and Digital Download.

My Chemical Romance Launch Short Film “Prelude to The End” With Visual Artist Lauren Tsai
My Chemical Romance and visual artist Lauren Tsai have launched a collaborative short film, available to watch now. “Prelude to The End” arrives on the heels of last Friday’s release of The Black Parade (20th Anniversary), a re-issue celebrating twenty years of the seminal, 4x Platinum-certified landmark album that has inspired fans and artists across generations and genres. As one of those artists, Tsai has merged the visual world of her project The Dying World, which first debuted as a short film at the 2025 Annecy Film Festival, with “The End,” the first song from The Black Parade. The film was announced on October 29, 2026.
“Prelude to The End” is produced by Tsai’s independent studio UNREAL INC. and will screen ahead of the final dates of the band’s historic five nights at the Hollywood Bowl (October 30 and 31). The film is available now on My Chemical Romance’s YouTube channel.
Upon its release in 2006, The Black Parade hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums and Top Tastemaker Albums, catapulting the New Jersey-bred group into the mainstream. The Black Parade (20th Anniversary) includes the full album alongside six bonus tracks — three fan-favorite B-sides previously scattered across different releases, and three live selections captured during the original 2007 album tour at the band’s hometown club, Maxwell’s in Hoboken, New Jersey. The latter recordings haven’t been released on LP, CD, or streaming until now, and include the never-before-released “Someone Out There Loves You.” The iTunes exclusive version adds “Live from Hoboken” takes of “Mama” and “Cancer” too.
My Chemical Romance will wrap the U.S. leg of their blockbuster, critically acclaimed The Black Parade 2026 Tour this weekend when they conclude an unprecedented 5-night stint at the Hollywood Bowl on Halloween night. The tour continues on to Asia next week.
“Prelude to The End” centers around Astrid, the protagonist of The Dying World, as she navigates life at an uncanny boarding school in New England that has been overtaken by trash. As the school seeks to force her into compliance by throwing out her cherished sketchbook, Astrid falls down the school’s trash chute, landing in a world inhabited by forgotten ideas, and comes to encounter an idea of her own which has been plaguing her. The film explores the relationships we all hold with our creations, youth and the unwavering determination to become and express our truth, the latter of which in particular is a key, recurring theme throughout My Chemical Romance’s catalog.
In addition to Tsai providing the vocals for the film’s protagonist Astrid, “Prelude to The End” also features vocal contributions from Billie Eilish (who voices Astrid’s friend), Phoebe Bridgers (who voices Astrid’s sister), Hideo Kojima (who voices The Teacher) and John C. McGinley (who voices The Dean — an imposing authoritative figure in The Dying World’s Paper Academy) and more. “Prelude to The End” features a live recording of Flying River, Violin Concerto by Pascal Dusapin, performed by Utopia Orchestra at the Fondation Louis Vuitton, conducted by Giuseppe Mengoli, with solo violin by Daniel Lozakovich.
Lauren Tsai began her artistic work as a self-taught artist and animator on YouTube at only 11 years old. She cites My Chemical Romance’s world as seminal to her own artistic development more broadly, inspiring aspects of The Dying World and its characters. Lauren went on to build a career in Japan working in art and fashion before relocating to Los Angeles. Her work has expanded into animation, direction (recently directing “Cool About It” for boygenius), fine art (recently collaborating with Perrotin Gallery for Art Basel HK), acting (HBO’s Rooster, LEGION on FX), fashion collaborations (Marc Jacobs, Nike), and creating immersive, large-scale installations and exhibitions around The Dying World.
After introducing The Dying World with a short film at Annecy Film Festival in 2025, it was fully unveiled as part of her Hollywood Forever Cemetery installation later that year. The collaboration with My Chemical Romance not only serves as a full-circle moment for the artist, given that she used to create animated fan videos for the band’s songs as a child, but in directing “Prelude to The End,” it also offered Tsai the opportunity to expand the legacy of The Black Parade by deepening the narrative of The Dying World by introducing voice, new characters, and new settings in the story.
Speaking about the collaboration, Tsai shares: “It was an absolute dream to work on this project for The Black Parade and The Dying World. I deeply respect MCR and Gerard’s creative legacy. It has been an honor for him to find inspiration in a world that I’ve created, in the same way I have always admired the worlds that he has built throughout his career.”
