The 4th Annual Urban Golf Weekend Powered by Lexus returned to Miami Beach over Labor Day Weekend, bringing five days of golf, business, culture and philanthropy to Eden Roc Miami Beach and Miami Beach Golf Club — and leaving behind a $30,000 investment in education and the next generation of golfers.

Held September 3–7, the weekend drew golfers, entrepreneurs, executives, entertainers, community leaders and emerging professionals from across the country. What began as a charitable golf initiative has grown into a national platform that uses the game to build relationships, broaden access and create opportunities on and off the course.

The weekend’s biggest give-back came through Urban Golf Foundation, Inc., which committed $30,000 to education and youth golf: $15,000 to Florida A&M University (FAMU) to support HBCU education and golf opportunities, and $15,000 to Fore Life Golf, Inc. to advance youth development and access to the game.

“In our fourth year, it’s exciting to see Urban Golf Weekend continue to grow and to see what we’re building together,” said Clifton Addison, founder of Urban Golf Weekend and Urban Golf Foundation, Inc. “We’re proud to give back to organizations that create opportunities for students and young golfers while continuing to build a community that extends far beyond the course.”

The weekend opened on September 3 with an official honor: the City of Miami Beach proclaimed the day “Urban Golf Weekend Day,” with Mayor Steven Meiner, joined by Miami Beach Black Affairs Advisory Committee Chair Glendon Hall, presenting the proclamation and welcoming attendees to the city.

Opening-day programming included the Business & Lifestyle Expo, where entrepreneurs, brands and organizations showcased products and services, built relationships and reached new audiences. The Expo featured a strong representation of Black-owned businesses and emerging brands, reinforcing the weekend’s commitment to entrepreneurship and economic opportunity alongside golf. Students from Fore Life Golf also met and spoke directly with participating entrepreneurs and vendors — asking questions, hearing their stories and seeing firsthand the range of careers and possibilities within the broader golf ecosystem.

Another highlight was the Power Hour, moderated by Addison and featuring actor and former NFL player Isaac Keys and actor Woody McClain. The conversation explored success, entrepreneurship and golf, and the role relationships play in opening doors and creating opportunities.

Across the five days, programming extended the conversation beyond the course, covering entrepreneurship, wealth creation, leadership, wellness, women in golf, professional advancement and the sport’s evolving business and cultural landscape. The signature Urban Golf Weekend Charity Golf Tournament Powered by Lexus took place Saturday at Miami Beach Golf Club, followed by the After Par-Tee, and the weekend culminated Sunday with the Power Brunch and more networking.

Lexus powered the five-day experience, supporting the effort to bring golf, culture, business and community together in an environment that fosters authentic connections and expands access to the game.

“The strongest brand partnerships are built when culture, community, and authentic experiences intersect,” said Ayiko Broyard, Executive Vice President, Head of Account, Experiential & Entertainment at Walton Isaacson. “Lexus’ support for Urban Golf Weekend reflects a shared commitment to expanding access to the game and to celebrating the vibrant communities redefining golf’s future.”

Now in its fourth year, Urban Golf Weekend continues to challenge traditional perceptions of golf, demonstrating how the sport can serve as a platform for business development, wealth creation, mentorship, education and social impact. Planning for Urban Golf Weekend 2027 is already underway.

Blades Brown keeps making history before he can legally buy a drink.

The teenager finished alone in second at the Korn Ferry Tour Championship at The Federal Club in Virginia, closing with a 2-under 69 to climb to ninth in the season-long points standings — and with that, he became the youngest golfer ever to earn PGA Tour status through the Korn Ferry Tour.

Brown began the finale already inside the top 20 who earn 2027 PGA Tour cards, so his week was about positioning rather than survival. He delivered anyway, finishing runner-up to Austin Hitt in the season finale of the PGA Tour’s developmental circuit.

He is part of a 20-man graduating class headlined by Hitt and points champion Ross Steelman. The Korn Ferry Tour has long been the proving ground where future major winners earn their stripes, and Brown now carries that ‘youngest ever’ label into his rookie season on the big tour in 2027.
