Women’s Soccer Beats Jessup, Extends Win Streak to 3
The Chaminade University women's soccer team scored twice in the final nine minutes to pull out a 2-0 over Jessup University at Saint Louis Field.
Shannon Healy (Gilbert, Ariz./Campo Verde) accounted for both goals as the Silverswords won the third game in their season-ending four-game home stand.
Extending their winning streak to three, the 'Swords improved to 3-11-1 and 3-5 in the Pacific West Conference. They also moved up to sixth in the conference with nine points.
Healy, who has three goals in her last three games, is the first Silversword with a multi-goal game since Haley Mo'okini against Concordia on Nov. 2, 2023.
The junior forward snapped a scoreless deadlock, elevating over a Jessup defender and headed in a corner kick from Milan Cordone (Las Vegas/University of Northern Iowa/Coronado HS) at 81:21, the latest game-tying or go-ahead score since Nov. 12, 2023 when Kenna Kiefer (Vail, Ariz./Cienega) had the equalizer in a 2-2 draw against Hawai'i Hilo.
It was Cordone's third assist, tying the team high with Kiefer, and her team-leading seventh point.
CUH put the game out of reach when Marianna Carpenter (Castle Rock, Colo./University of North Dakota/Castle View HS) dribbled down the left sideline into the 18-yard box and, when Warriors goalkeeper Tyler Boren left the box for a challenge, made an easier flick to Healy who was all alone in front of the net for the goal with just 9 seconds remaining. Carpenter also got her first assist of the season.
Chaminade took a season-high-tying 16 shots, seven being on-goal. Healy led all attackers with four shots, as did Sofia Desirello (Menifee, Calif./University of North Dakota/Paloma HS), while all of the former's shots were on frame. Cordone attempted three shots and Brooke Perreira (Honolulu/Kaiser) two.
Sydney Bakritzes (Edina, Minn./University of North Dakota/Edina HS) made four saves to pick up the win.
Boren also had four stops in taking the loss for the Warriors (1-11-2, 1-6 PacWest).
The Silverswords will close out the season next Saturday when they host in-city rival Hawai'i Pacific University at the Saint Louis Field pitch for Aloha Senior Day. Kickoff is at 10 a.m. with the seniors being honored following the game.

Lamar Jackson Expected to Return for Ravens’ Showdown With Bills
The Baltimore Ravens are on track to get their franchise quarterback back for one of the biggest games on the Week 8 schedule.
Lamar Jackson is expected to play Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday. Jackson has been sidelined since injuring his ankle in Week 4, a high-ankle sprain suffered on Oct. 4 that forced him to miss multiple games in October.
Jackson addressed his recovery this week for the first time since the injury, describing the sprain as a “very, very, very, very, very painful” one, per ESPN. He is officially listed as questionable, but the expectation inside the week is that he will be under center when the Ravens travel to Buffalo.
Baltimore has felt his absence. The Ravens (4-3) have dropped two straight, including a 35-13 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Oct. 25, and backup Tyler Huntley has started in Jackson’s place during the skid. Baltimore currently sits ninth in the AFC, outside the early playoff picture, a position that makes every conference game from here forward carry extra weight.
Jackson’s return changes the math for the entire offense. Wide receiver Zay Flowers, who has been among the league’s most efficient receivers this season, gets his quarterback back, and a rushing attack that has leaned on contingency plans gets its most dangerous runner restored to the lineup.
The Bills, coming off their bye, present a difficult first test back. But for a Ravens team that has watched its margin for error shrink over the last two weeks, simply having No. 8 back on the field is the biggest development of their season so far.
