Dokapon Kingdom: Connect 2 Announced for Summer 2027 With the Series’ First Worldwide Launch
The friendship-testing board game RPG is coming back, and this time the whole world gets it on the same day. Idea Factory International and Sting have announced Dokapon Kingdom: Connect 2, a direct sequel to Dokapon Kingdom: Connect, launching in Summer 2027 for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam — the series’ first simultaneous worldwide release.
Connect 2 is a role-playing adventure with a tabletop party-game twist, where one lucky turn can give a player the upper hand and leave their friends furious. Players travel a board-game map, battle monsters, visit towns and race to finish with the most wealth, and rivals who land on the same space can fight, with the winner able to take money and items from the loser.
The sequel adds more character customization than the series has had before, with adjustable hairstyles, eyes and mouths and the ability to save favorite designs. There are more than 10 job classes to work through, starting with Warrior, Magician and Thief. A new cooperative battle mode has every player team up against a massive Giga Monster for a large pile of rewards — though the group still has to decide whether to divide the loot fairly or let one player grab it all — and another new mode starts everyone at a high level with powerful equipment. The game supports solo play, local multiplayer for up to four players on one system, and online play for two to four players, with English and Japanese voice acting and text in English, Japanese, Thai, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.
To celebrate the worldwide launch, Connect 2 makes its debut at Thailand Game Show 2026, running from October 29 through November 1, 2026. Visitors to the Japan Pavilion booth can watch the announcement trailer, play the original Dokapon Kingdom: Connect and pick up a giveaway pin badge while supplies last. Details on the physical and digital editions will be announced at a later date.
