Escape the Backrooms Announces the After Party, Three New Levels Coming This December
Escape the Backrooms is throwing a party, and everyone is invited to run screaming from it. Publisher Secret Mode has announced the After Party, a new update for the viral co-op horror game that will add three new levels this December, with a party theme running through all of it.
The update was teased at the Triple-i Initiative showcase, and the pitch is pure Backrooms logic: decorations, cake, new skins to dress up in, and then the entities arrive to end the celebration early. Two additional levels are also in the works beyond the December three, so the labyrinth is set to keep growing.
Players do not have to wait until December for something new. A selection of free and paid cosmetics is arriving in October, and Secret Mode is hinting at the addition players have been asking about: dressing up as an entity yourself, the better to terrify your own friends mid-run.
The numbers behind the game keep climbing. Escape the Backrooms, developed by Fancy Games, has now been experienced by more than 12 million players. The 1-to-4-player co-op game sends players through more than 30 eerie levels of liminal space, from the iconic yellow hallways to pool rooms and hotels, hunting for exits while entities stalk them, with proximity voice chat that the entities can hear. Managing your sanity is part of the job, and Nightmare Mode raises the stakes to a full restart on a single death.
Escape the Backrooms is available now on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. No exact December date for the After Party has been announced yet, so keep the party hats ready and the exits in sight.

Planted! Launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, Bringing Horticultural Combat to Consoles
Competitive gardening has officially gone extreme. Planted!, the chaotic 1-to-4 player party game from Welsh studio Cloth Cat Games and publisher Curveball Games, launches today on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, inviting players to sow, grow and throw their way to victory against their friends.
The setup is simple and gloriously silly: players race around an allotment growing fresh produce, then fling it at goals, and at each other, to rack up points and be crowned champion. There is an arsenal for the dirty work, too, including weed bombs, spud turrets and eerily green clones to help players edge out the competition.
The eight multiplayer arenas refuse to stay in the garden. Matches play out on windy mountainsides, in cavernous cave systems, on half-built skyscrapers and around active volcanoes, each location bringing its own twists and hazards. The arenas support both local play and online multiplayer with crossplay, and players can pick from a cast of unlikely characters, each with their own personality and style.
For solo players, Planted! also carries a full single-player story mode set in the cutthroat world of competitive gardening, with challenges and boss battles that teach the tactics which carry straight into multiplayer. “What started as a fun prototype for us to test out our weird and wacky ideas on has become a game the whole team has poured so much heart and soul into,” said Ben Cawthorne, Creative Producer at Cloth Cat Games.
Planted! is available digitally now on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A digital PC release and a physical PlayStation 5 edition follow in time for Christmas, after a delay to the Steam version’s approval, and a Nintendo Switch version is planned for early 2027.
