Killing Floor 3 Checks Into a Haunted Hotel for Its Free Halloween Horrors Event

Published

on

Killing Floor 3 is celebrating its first Halloween in style. Tripwire Interactive has released Halloween Horrors: Ghastly Getaway, a free seasonal event and content update for the co-op shooter, available now on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The centerpiece is Haunted Hotel, a brand-new permanent survival map set in the Hotel Iorga in Vladislav, Romania, a multi-story building torn apart by a ritual gone wrong. Tripwire warns that fighting on the higher floors carries its own danger: it is a long way down. The map is permanently home to Halloween-themed Zeds, so the scares stay after the season ends.

For the event itself, running through November 5, every base Zed model and the boss Dr. Moorcroft have been redressed as classic horror movie monsters, and those Halloween Zeds appear on all maps until the event closes. The Nightfall Stronghold has also been redecorated for the season, giving the home base a full macabre makeover through November 5.

The update is not only seasonal. Gunslinger players get new single-weapon variants of the perk’s pistols, a cheaper alternative to the dual-wield versions that gives players finer control over how they upgrade their primary weapons. There are also new mutation waves and weekly mutators, daily challenges, new main menu music and a round of quality-of-life fixes and balance work.

A new Halloween Supply Pass anchors the rewards, with 208 rewards across its free and paid tracks, including the Commando Chicken and Chickenator cosmetics, weapon skins, trinkets, player cards and stickers. The in-game store has stocked up too, with items like the Skeleton Jumpsuit, Pumpkin Mask and Monster Mask.

Killing Floor 3 is set in 2091, seventy years after Killing Floor 2, with squads of up to six Nightfall specialists fighting Horzine’s Zed hordes. Ghastly Getaway is free for every owner, and the Haunted Hotel is not checking out when the event ends.

007 First Light Passes 7 Million Wishlists and Celebrates With Jack the Bulldog

Published

on

Seven million wishlists is a very Bond number, and IO Interactive is celebrating it the right way: with a dog. The studio announced on October 7 that 007 First Light has surpassed 7 million wishlists across all platforms, and the milestone unlocks Jack the Bulldog as a companion in the game’s TacSim lobby for every player.

Jack is deep-cut Bond history. The bulldog first appeared as a statue on M’s desk in Skyfall in 2012, survived the explosion that destroyed her office with a cracked face and a charred Union Jack, and returned in Spectre and No Time To Die. In First Light he is alive, described by IO as gruff on the outside but endlessly good-natured, a fixture around MI6 that Bond himself has grown fond of between assignments. And yes, the studio confirms the only detail that matters: you can pet him.

The milestone arrives alongside the free Extended Operations update, available now. It adds New Game+, letting players replay the campaign with their unlocked outfits and gadgets, a new 007 difficulty mode, a full Photo Mode and refined weapon handling. TacSim also grows, with the Valhalla Protocol missions built around the Aston Martin Valhalla and a new mission set at The Pearl in Vietnam.

007 First Light is IO Interactive’s original Bond origin story, developed with Amazon MGM Studios, and it is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, and it is currently on sale with a 30 percent discount on Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is due in March 2027.

Seven million people asked for this game. Every one of them can now stop by TacSim and give Jack a pat before the next mission.
