Jagex Partners With Games by Malcs to Publish Melvor Idle 2: A RuneScape Adventure
Jagex is officially bringing Melvor Idle into the RuneScape family. The Cambridge studio announced today that it will publish Melvor Idle 2: A RuneScape Adventure, the sequel from developer Games by Malcs, which launches in Early Access for PC via Steam on November 17, 2026.
The first Melvor Idle sold more than one million units as a fan-made love letter to RuneScape’s skilling. The sequel goes bigger on every axis: five new skills bring the total to 29, the level cap rises, and a completely reimagined Mastery system covers every skill. A new Quest system tests players’ combat, which has been updated with new mechanics, and game modes arrive for the first time in the series, aimed at players of every level.
The formula stays true to what made the original a phenomenon: a single-player idle adventure where players master interconnected skills at their own pace, from woodcutting, smithing, cooking and farming to combat and magic, then take on dungeons, monsters and bosses. Offline progression keeps the adventure moving even when you are not playing, and the whole package arrives with updated graphics, audio and animations.
“Melvor Idle started as a small passion project inspired by RuneScape, so partnering with Jagex to make Melvor Idle 2 a true ‘RuneScape Adventure’ is a dream come true,” said Brendan Malcom, founder of Games by Malcs. “With Jagex’s support, we can go even further: five new skills, a reimagined Mastery system, a brand-new Quest system and a whole new look.”
Anna Mostyn-Williams, Jagex’s Senior Director of Business Development & Partnerships, said Brendan and his team captured what makes RuneScape’s skilling so satisfying, and that both longtime Melvor fans and RuneScape players will love what is coming. Melvor Idle 2: A RuneScape Adventure enters Early Access on Steam on November 17, 2026.

Planted! Launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, Bringing Horticultural Combat to Consoles
Competitive gardening has officially gone extreme. Planted!, the chaotic 1-to-4 player party game from Welsh studio Cloth Cat Games and publisher Curveball Games, launches today on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, inviting players to sow, grow and throw their way to victory against their friends.
The setup is simple and gloriously silly: players race around an allotment growing fresh produce, then fling it at goals, and at each other, to rack up points and be crowned champion. There is an arsenal for the dirty work, too, including weed bombs, spud turrets and eerily green clones to help players edge out the competition.
The eight multiplayer arenas refuse to stay in the garden. Matches play out on windy mountainsides, in cavernous cave systems, on half-built skyscrapers and around active volcanoes, each location bringing its own twists and hazards. The arenas support both local play and online multiplayer with crossplay, and players can pick from a cast of unlikely characters, each with their own personality and style.
For solo players, Planted! also carries a full single-player story mode set in the cutthroat world of competitive gardening, with challenges and boss battles that teach the tactics which carry straight into multiplayer. “What started as a fun prototype for us to test out our weird and wacky ideas on has become a game the whole team has poured so much heart and soul into,” said Ben Cawthorne, Creative Producer at Cloth Cat Games.
Planted! is available digitally now on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A digital PC release and a physical PlayStation 5 edition follow in time for Christmas, after a delay to the Steam version’s approval, and a Nintendo Switch version is planned for early 2027.
