Glades Central Raiders players in gold helmets and jerseys celebrate on the field in front of the Effie Grear Field scoreboard after a win

Pahokee visits Glades Central on Friday night for the Muck Bowl. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m., according to the Palm Beach Post Week 11 schedule.

The Post lists Pahokee at 5-3 and Glades Central at 3-5 for this Friday, Oct. 30 matchup. MaxPreps lists the same records and the same 6:30 p.m. start on its Florida schedule page for Oct. 30.

The Post made the setting clear in its Week 11 coverage. Its live scores page said reporters would bring updates from around the county and pointed readers to live video from the Muck Bowl, and its picks page said the Muck Bowl is sure to draw plenty of attention this week. Its top games list also noted Pahokee as No. 9 in Class 1A heading into the trip to Glades Central.

Rivalry games like this one do not need records to explain them. Pahokee and Glades Central are the two names attached to the Muck, and Friday night is their regular season finale against each other.

The Post staff picks were split, with picks for both Pahokee and Glades Central, and the audience poll in that picks piece favored Pahokee at 51 percent. That split fits a rivalry finale. The records favor Pahokee. Home field favors Glades Central. Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m.

Berkeley Prep hosts Sickles on Friday night in Tampa to close the regular season, with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m. Berkeley Prep enters at 6-2 and Sickles at 1-8, according to MaxPreps. Berkeley Prep’s schedule page confirms the Buccaneers are home against Sickles on October 30.

Berkeley Prep has built a 6-2 season and will look to add a seventh win at home before turning its attention to the playoffs. The Buccaneers will try to control the game early, protect the football, and let their home crowd settle in. Sickles travels across Tampa at 1-8, closing the season with a chance to compete against a winning team and finish with effort its seniors can carry with them.

Finales like this are about execution and pride on both sidelines. Berkeley Prep cannot afford to overlook a county opponent, and Sickles has nothing to lose on the road. The Buccaneers will look for a clean, complete performance, while the Gryphons will look to create short fields and keep the game within reach into the second half.
