Syd has one of the most recognizable voices in modern R&B, first as the frontwoman of The Internet and now on a solo run that keeps getting bigger. Her new album Beard has a full North American tour behind it, and on Friday, November 20 the Beard Tour stops at House of Blues Dallas.

Syd plays House of Blues Dallas on Friday, November 20, with doors at 7:00 PM and the show at 8:00 PM. The Dallas date lands in the Texas swing of the Beard Tour, one night after her Houston stop at the same room’s sister venue.

The Beard Tour supports her new album, Beard, and runs 22 dates across the United States and Canada. The run began on November 7 in Vancouver and travels through Portland, Seattle, Houston, Dallas, Austin, Atlanta, Charlotte, Brooklyn, Washington, Philadelphia, Boston, Toronto and Chicago, among other cities.

Syd first came to wide attention as the lead voice of The Internet, where her smooth and unhurried delivery helped define a decade of alternative R&B. Her solo work keeps that same feel, quiet and confident, built on songs that play like late night conversations. A headline tour behind a new album is the fullest statement of that solo catalog yet, and it gives Dallas a first look at the Beard songs on stage.

House of Blues Dallas, in the White Swan Building on North Lamar Street, is the right size room for this show, close enough that a voice like Syd’s carries to the back wall without ever having to push. Texas gets two nights of the tour in a row, and the Dallas stop is the Friday night one.
