Gaijin Entertainment has detailed Eagle’s Shadow, the next major update for War Thunder, which arrives in mid-November. The update is headlined by the F-15EX Eagle II, the newest variant of the long-serving Eagle family, which joins both the United States and Israeli air trees. It is one of the largest content drops the game has received this year, with new hardware for the air, ground and naval branches all arriving in the same release.

The F-15EX brings serious numbers to the top tier. It can exceed Mach 2.5, carries the EPAWSS electronic warfare suite and an advanced radar, and can engage targets with air-to-air missiles at ranges of up to 130 kilometres. Pilots can load as many as 12 air-to-air missiles for a single sortie, along with precision-guided SDBs for ground attack work. The Eagle II is joined in the air by the Su-15TM interceptor, adding a very different kind of speed to the update.

Eagle’s Shadow also introduces an entirely new weapon category to the game: cluster bombs, which arrive for the United States, Germany and France. On the ground, the Leopard 2A8 main battle tank deploys for Germany and Sweden, continuing the long Leopard lineage that anchors European armour in the game. Naval players are not left out either, with the Russian battleship Imperator Nikolai I and the premium American destroyer USS Cushing joining the fleets. Few updates manage to give air, ground and naval players something new at the same time.

War Thunder remains free to play on PC, PlayStation and Xbox, with combined-arms battles spanning aircraft, armour and warships. Eagle’s Shadow lands in mid-November.

Mayday: The Survival Island has launched on Steam today, a hand-drawn pixel survival game that blends classic island survival with cozy homesteading. The game comes from Pequi Studio, the solo project of developer Rafael Zanchettin, and is published by indie.io.

Players take on the role of a plane crash survivor who washes up on the shore of a remote island with nothing to their name. From that first stretch of beach, the job is to build a life from scratch, farming crops, fishing the shallows, mining for raw materials, crafting tools and equipment, and cooking meals from whatever the island provides.

The island itself is anything but static. Seasons change across the year, storms roll in off the water, and fire can spread dynamically through the landscape, turning one careless moment into a real emergency. Three game modes and four difficulty levels let every player tune the challenge, whether they want a gentle homesteading escape or a far harsher fight to stay alive.

Progression comes through a skill tree and building upgrades that steadily turn a rough camp into a thriving homestead. Beneath the cozy surface, though, the island keeps its secrets: hidden mysteries, cultists and strange creatures all wait to be discovered, alongside animal friends that can be won over and even dressed up in costumes.

Mayday: The Survival Island is available now on Steam priced at $13.99, with a 20 percent launch discount bringing it down to $11.19 for the first week after launch. Players who like their survival games with a gentler, hand-crafted touch now have a new island to call home.
