Model Kit Studio Playtest Brings Model Making Magic to Steam Today

Step into a model builder’s workshop to build and paint a collection of mecha models in the brand new playtest for Model Kit Studio, available to download today on Steam.

Playable until November 16, the playtest is a chance to relax and unwind with model making magic. Players cut and assemble each model piece by piece, following intuitive instructions to build and grow their collection, just like real model kit building.

The playtest features two models to build at the workbench: MeKS, a flying robo sidekick known for getting itself into all sorts of problems, and Excavaclaw, a mining mecha designed for planetary and asteroid excavation. Builders can personalize their models with brushes, airbrushes and decals, and use the hand vacuum to clean up any leftover nubs.

Between builds, players can explore their stylish workshop apartment and soak in the cozy vibes, meet their purring pet cat Donut, take a break with a hot cup of coffee, water the studio plants and unwind to a soothing soundtrack on the jukebox.

Model Kit Studio is developed by Spooky Rabbits and published by Mythwright, the independent publisher behind Thronefall, Going Medieval and TerraTech Legion. The full game assembles on Steam in 2027, and the playtest is available to download now.

UK developer and publisher FuturLab, and Mattel, Inc. The new content pack will release on 3 December 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.

The colourful new content update invites players into the world of Barbie to make everything sparkle, bringing together the relaxing gameplay of PowerWash Simulator 2 with the colours, textures and iconic style of one of the world’s most recognisable icons.

From a Dream Camper to the Barbie DreamHouse, players will be able to powerwash their way through five colourful new jobs inspired by Barbie playsets. And what would a Barbie adventure be without the perfect accessories? Get cleaning with a custom Barbie power washer and character, bringing a distinctly pink twist to the PowerWash Simulator 2 experience.

The Barbie Pack is designed with bright colours, embossed plastic, smooth surfaces, and playful details that make every clean up a satisfying experience, with plenty of playful nods to Barbie playsets along the way. Whether cleaning solo or teaming up with friends in co op, players can take Barbie out of the box and get to work making her world sparkle. Just when you thought Barbie had tried every job under the sun, this Barbie is a powerwasher!
