Gardner Minshew came off the bench in the third quarter on Sunday and led one of the wildest comebacks of the season, rallying the Arizona Cardinals from 14 points down in the fourth quarter to a 33-30 overtime win over the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium.

Dallas (3-5) controlled most of the day. Jacoby Brissett started for Arizona and struggled, going 10 of 23 for 119 yards with an interception while taking four sacks. The Cowboys led 17-3 when Minshew entered with 1:35 left in the third quarter, and they still led 24-10 after Dak Prescott’s 5 yard touchdown run early in the fourth.

Minshew finished 17 of 23 for 188 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions, and Arizona scored touchdowns on four straight drives to end regulation. Tyler Allgeier broke a career long 63 yard touchdown run, then caught a 5 yard scoring pass. Minshew hit Trey McBride from 14 yards to cut it to 27-24. After Brandon Aubrey’s 41 yard field goal made it 30-24 with 1:09 left, Minshew found Michael Wilson for a 13 yard touchdown with six seconds remaining to tie the game. Chad Ryland missed the extra point, his first missed PAT since 2024, and the game went to overtime.

Josh Sweat sacked Prescott to end a Dallas possession in overtime, and Ryland redeemed himself with the winning 42 yard field goal on Arizona’s second overtime drive. Allgeier finished with 147 rushing yards and 191 yards from scrimmage as Arizona’s only healthy running back late in the game. Wilson caught 8 passes for 111 yards and a score, and McBride added 7 catches for 72 yards and a touchdown.

Prescott went 19 of 29 for 195 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions, and ran for a score. CeeDee Lamb led Dallas with 7 catches for 58 yards. Arizona (3-5) outgained Dallas 467 to 261, won its fifth straight against the Cowboys, and improved to 5-0 all time at AT&T Stadium.

The Denver Broncos scored 15 unanswered points in the fourth quarter and finished the job with a goal line stand in the final seconds, beating the Kansas City Chiefs 28-24 on Sunday at Empower Field at Mile High to take over first place in the AFC West.

Kansas City (5-2) led most of the day. Patrick Mahomes threw an 11 yard touchdown pass to Rashee Rice in the first quarter, a 73 yard touchdown to running back Emmett Johnson in the second, and a 4 yard score to Noah Gray in the third quarter for a 24-13 lead. Denver (6-2) stayed close behind Wil Lutz field goals of 39 and 45 yards and a 1 yard touchdown pass from Bo Nix to Jaylen Waddle on fourth down late in the first half, and Kansas City took a 17-13 lead into halftime on a 45 yard Harrison Butker field goal in the final minute of the second quarter.

The Broncos went three and out three straight times to open the second half, then drove 80 yards in nine plays. Nix hit Nate Adkins for a 2 yard touchdown on fourth and goal with 8:55 left, and Waddle caught the two point conversion to pull Denver within 24-21.

After Butker missed a field goal try, Nix found rookie Jonah Coleman for 51 yards down to the 5 yard line, and Coleman ran it in on the next play just after the two minute warning to give Denver its first lead since the first quarter. Coleman finished as the Broncos’ top rusher and top receiver, running for 41 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries and catching 4 passes for 63 yards.

Kansas City had one last chance and nearly took it. Mahomes hit Travis Kelce for 32 yards and Kenneth Walker carried the Chiefs down to the 1 yard line. But Mahomes threw incomplete on second down, Walker was stopped for no gain on third down, a false start pushed Kansas City back, and Malcolm Roach sacked Mahomes on fourth down as time expired. Mahomes finished 30 of 41 for 321 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions. Johnson caught 5 passes for 128 yards for the Chiefs, and Walker ran for 69 yards on 21 carries. Nix went 20 of 32 for 222 yards and two touchdowns for the Broncos, and neither team committed a turnover all afternoon.
