Bengals 43, Titans 36 (OT): Burrow throws five touchdowns and runs for the winner in a classic
Joe Burrow saved his best for last on Sunday, throwing five touchdown passes and then running for the winning score in overtime as the Cincinnati Bengals outlasted the Tennessee Titans 43-36 at Paycor Stadium.
Tennessee (1-7) jumped out to a 13-0 lead in the first quarter on two Joey Slye field goals and a 40 yard touchdown run by Tony Pollard. Cincinnati (5-2) answered with touchdown passes to Ja’Marr Chase and Evan Endries to lead 14-13 at halftime. The second half turned into a shootout. Tee Higgins scored from 17 yards, Pollard tied it with a 1 yard run and a two point conversion run by Cam Ward, and Pollard was then tackled in the end zone for a safety that put Cincinnati up 23-21.
The fourth quarter alone had three lead changes and a tie. Ward hit Chimere Dike for an 11 yard touchdown, Burrow answered with a 25 yard strike to Mike Gesicki, and Ward found Wan’Dale Robinson from 15 yards with a two point conversion to Gunnar Helm for a 36-29 Tennessee lead with 3:46 left. Burrow tied it with 1:17 remaining on an 18 yard pass to Higgins.
Tennessee won the overtime coin toss and chose to kick. Burrow needed five plays and 70 yards, finishing the drive himself with a 9 yard touchdown run. The Titans then failed on fourth down at their own 35.
Burrow finished 38 of 48 for 462 yards with five touchdowns and three interceptions, and Cincinnati piled up 510 yards despite four turnovers. Higgins caught 10 passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns, and Chase had 11 catches for 141 yards and a score. Ward set a career high with 304 passing yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions for Tennessee, and Pollard ran for 117 yards and two scores on 21 carries. The win was Cincinnati’s third straight and its first 5-2 start since 2021.

Broncos 28, Chiefs 24: Denver scores 15 in the fourth and stands tall at the goal line to take the AFC West lead
The Denver Broncos scored 15 unanswered points in the fourth quarter and finished the job with a goal line stand in the final seconds, beating the Kansas City Chiefs 28-24 on Sunday at Empower Field at Mile High to take over first place in the AFC West.
Kansas City (5-2) led most of the day. Patrick Mahomes threw an 11 yard touchdown pass to Rashee Rice in the first quarter, a 73 yard touchdown to running back Emmett Johnson in the second, and a 4 yard score to Noah Gray in the third quarter for a 24-13 lead. Denver (6-2) stayed close behind Wil Lutz field goals of 39 and 45 yards and a 1 yard touchdown pass from Bo Nix to Jaylen Waddle on fourth down late in the first half, and Kansas City took a 17-13 lead into halftime on a 45 yard Harrison Butker field goal in the final minute of the second quarter.
The Broncos went three and out three straight times to open the second half, then drove 80 yards in nine plays. Nix hit Nate Adkins for a 2 yard touchdown on fourth and goal with 8:55 left, and Waddle caught the two point conversion to pull Denver within 24-21.
After Butker missed a field goal try, Nix found rookie Jonah Coleman for 51 yards down to the 5 yard line, and Coleman ran it in on the next play just after the two minute warning to give Denver its first lead since the first quarter. Coleman finished as the Broncos’ top rusher and top receiver, running for 41 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries and catching 4 passes for 63 yards.
Kansas City had one last chance and nearly took it. Mahomes hit Travis Kelce for 32 yards and Kenneth Walker carried the Chiefs down to the 1 yard line. But Mahomes threw incomplete on second down, Walker was stopped for no gain on third down, a false start pushed Kansas City back, and Malcolm Roach sacked Mahomes on fourth down as time expired. Mahomes finished 30 of 41 for 321 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions. Johnson caught 5 passes for 128 yards for the Chiefs, and Walker ran for 69 yards on 21 carries. Nix went 20 of 32 for 222 yards and two touchdowns for the Broncos, and neither team committed a turnover all afternoon.
