Halloween Rout in Winston-Salem: Wake Forest Buries Virginia 51-7 Behind Ty Clark III’s Three Touchdowns
Wake Forest turned Halloween afternoon into a rout. The Demon Deacons buried Virginia 51-7 at Allegacy Stadium in Winston-Salem on Saturday, scoring on all six red-zone trips and piling up 538 yards in their fifth straight win.
Ty Clark III scored three touchdowns on just eight carries. His 2-yard run capped the opening drive, set up by Kam Shanks’ 30-yard punt return, and he added scores from 4 yards in the second quarter and 2 yards in the third. The third quarter was the avalanche: 24 points. Calvert’s 44-yarder, Gio Lopez’s 10-yard touchdown pass to Carlos Hernandez, Clark’s third score and Jamar Searcy’s 7-yard touchdown run made it 44-0 before Virginia finally answered, Beau Pribula finding Da’Shawn Martin for a 47-yard touchdown late in the quarter.
