Mariah Carey Celebrates 25 Years of ‘Glitter’ With Deluxe Edition

Twenty five years after Glitter arrived in the hardest week imaginable, Mariah Carey is giving it the celebration it never got the first time. The Glitter (Deluxe Edition) is out today, Friday, October 30, marking the 25th anniversary of her 2001 album and film soundtrack.

Glitter’s story is one of pop’s great second acts. The album landed on September 11, 2001, and was written off for years. Her fans never let it go. In 2018 the #JusticeForGlitter campaign drove the record to No. 1 on the iTunes albums chart, 17 years after release, and turned a punchline into a cult classic.

The Deluxe Edition brings the original album back to streaming alongside remixes and special versions from the era. The rollout started earlier this month when the “Loverboy” remix returned to streaming with a new video, and Mariah marked the anniversary in her own words: “Feels very surreal to say, but the 25th anniversary of Glitter is here.”

Glitter (Deluxe Edition) is streaming now on all platforms.

Gracie Abrams Drops New Single ‘Here You Come, There You Go’

Gracie Abrams does not do quiet releases anymore. Her new single “Here You Come, There You Go” is out now, the latest taste of the deluxe edition of Daughter from Hell, which arrives November 20.

Gracie announced it the day before in her own words: “Here You Come, There You Go is out tomorrow. I love this song so much.” The single caps a huge week for her in New York, where she has been everywhere from Saturday Night Live to the Brooklyn Museum.

Her writing has always lived in the almost: almost said it, almost stayed, almost left. A title like “Here You Come, There You Go” is that whole worldview in seven words, and it is exactly why her audience keeps growing. Nobody soundtracks the revolving door of a situationship like Gracie Abrams.

“Here You Come, There You Go” is streaming now on all platforms. Daughter from Hell (Deluxe) follows on November 20.
