Goddess of Victory: NIKKE Reveals 4th Anniversary Update Launching October 29
Shift Up and Level Infinite have pulled back the curtain on the fourth anniversary update for Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, revealed October 24 and launching worldwide on October 29 for PC, iOS and Android.
Three characters headline the patch. Marian: Queen arrives as a new version of one of the story’s central figures, joined by Scarlet: Goddeath — an upgraded Hongryeon with an Eden-enhanced body and a dark-matter-infused sword forged from her own and Jang-hwa’s shattered blades. A third SSR, Rapunzel: Sanctuary, built on a Pope motif with Red Shoes technology, is free: players can claim up to four copies through the anniversary events.
The main story reaches a turning point with Chapters 49 and 50, covering the 3rd Surface Recapture War and bringing the long-running Underground Ark plotline to its conclusion. A story event, “MARIA-n,” runs alongside, and a crossover with Shift Up’s own Stellar Blade adds a 22-track music collaboration — four tracks free — plus note skins, minigame backgrounds and a special character addition. A choice-driven visual-novel minigame, “Fading Affection,” gives the anniversary a quieter mode.
Four costumes join the shop and passes, including Marian: Queen’s wedding-dress “Last Affection” outfit and Snow White: Heavy Arms’ “Lacrimosa” gacha costume. Anniversary generosity is generous even by NIKKE standards: up to 259 free recruitment attempts and 4th Anniversary Selection Boxes are on offer, and the update launches full Spanish text localization.
The celebration leaves the game, too — a One Times Square takeover runs all day October 29, and Animate Los Angeles hosts an in-store event from October 31 to November 14. With more than 45 million downloads behind it, NIKKE’s fourth year opens with its biggest update yet, aimed squarely at both veterans and the lapsed players anniversaries are designed to win back.

THE FINALS Season 12 “PRIME TIME” Rebuilds Destruction and Adds Solo Showdown
THE FINALS has always sold itself on destruction, and Season 12 rebuilds the whole system. “PRIME TIME,” live now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, is the free-to-play game show shooter’s largest update since its 2023 launch, headlined by Gradual Destruction: buildings now bend, sag and partially collapse under damage instead of shattering on cue, while Blast Waves displace objects and deform walls, and smoke and toxic gas have been reworked to interact with the geometry they move through.
The season’s new mode is Solo Showdown, launching in beta as the game’s first dedicated solo tournament. Twelve contestants play three rounds drawn from eight rotating mini-modes — Blast Off!, Heavy Hitters, Boom Brawl, Slam-A-Rama, Sniper Standoff, Winch Wars, Turbo Tussle and One and Gunned — with the four lowest scorers eliminated after each of the first two rounds.
The game show itself gets smarter with Dynamic Commentary, also in beta: announcer Scotty now calls contestants out by name for standout plays such as team wipes and revive streaks, turning the broadcast layer into part of the reward.
Light players get a full new playstyle, the Infiltrator. True Sight reveals opponents through smoke, the Mimic Device disguises a contestant as an object, and the Translocator swaps the player’s position with a marked object. Balance shifts around it: Light builds gain 25 health and Heavy builds lose 25, compressing the gap between the outer classes.
Three arenas — Monaco, Seoul and Skyway Stadium — have been remastered, the HUD and Side Panel redesigned, and sponsor rewards rebuilt around Contracts; the VR currency has been removed entirely. A Frights Galore Halloween wheel covers the seasonal beat.
Three years in, Embark is not coasting on THE FINALS’ formula — PRIME TIME re-engineers the thing the game is famous for, and bets that better destruction keeps the show on air.
