Big Irie’s new single, “Static”, is a dark and grungy hip-hop track that draws you in immediately with its captivating beat. The track has all the necessary ingredients to be a hit, and it shines the spotlight on an artist with a huge talent, who will be around for a long time to come.
Speaking further on the new release, Big Irie says, “‘Static’ is about bossin’ up and letting everyone know you the flyest in the room. Breakout Artist Meli Foster-Turner Makes Every Song Count On unfinished conversations
Some EPs leave the feeling that another track or two might have helped complete the picture. unfinished conversations has the opposite effect. By the time it reaches the closing moments, it feels as though every song has earned its place.
That’s partly because Meli Foster-Turner resists the temptation to overload the EP. Each idea is given enough space to develop before making way for the next, creating a natural flow that keeps the listening experience moving without feeling rushed.
The project also benefits from its consistency. Whether the mood shifts towards reflection or quiet confidence, the songwriting keeps the same sense of focus throughout, giving the EP its own character without needing dramatic changes in style or pace.
It’s a release that rewards being heard in one sitting. The running order feels carefully considered, and the closing track lands with the sense that the journey has reached exactly the right point.
Sometimes the measure of an EP isn’t how much it tries to say, but how well it uses the time it has. unfinished conversations gets that balance exactly right. Have a listen for yourselves right now courtesy of Now Listen:
