Clean Start Brings Its Cozy Tidying Story to Steam on November 5

Clean Start, a cozy tidying game from developer Serious Sim, launches on Steam on November 5. Published by Amplified Games and TrueColor Games, the game follows Lena, an immigrant maid who makes her living cleaning and organizing other people’s homes, one cluttered room at a time.

Each job drops Lena into a new home presented as a detailed little diorama, packed with everyday clutter. A task list points out what needs doing — carrying toys back to a child’s bedroom, clearing up messes and sorting belongings — and players work through it object by object, deciding where everything belongs. As each space comes back into order, the items Lena handles start to reveal the lives of the people who live there.

The stories are told quietly, through the things people keep. A child’s toys, family belongings and half-forgotten keepsakes all carry small pieces of a larger picture, and part of the pleasure is piecing together who lives in each home simply by tidying it. It gives the simple act of cleaning a gentle emotional weight.

There are no timers, no scores and no game overs. Clean Start is built to be played slowly and calmly, at whatever pace suits the player, with the satisfaction coming from watching a chaotic room gradually turn into a warm, ordered home.

Players who want an early look can try the free demo on Steam now, ahead of the full launch on November 5.

Beyond the Mist Brings Its Cursed Lighthouse Horror to Steam, Switch Version on November 19

Beyond the Mist, the horror adventure from developer Yliader and publisher RAWRLAB Games, is out now on Steam. The game launched on October 31 priced at $5.99, with an introductory discount of 40 percent bringing it to $3.59 until November 7, and a Nintendo Switch version follows on November 19.

Players take the role of Arthur Webb, an aging lighthouse keeper trapped inside a cursed lighthouse. With the light failing and the mist closing in, Arthur has to find a way out of a place that no longer obeys the rules of the world outside.

Escape means searching the lighthouse room by room for items and clues, solving puzzles and making key decisions along the way. Those decisions matter: the story can end in three different ways, and not all of them lead Arthur safely out of the mist, so every choice is worth thinking about before it is made.

The game is a reimagining of the Game Boy title The Mist, rebuilt as a modern horror adventure while keeping the spirit of the original intact. Its 8-bit-style soundtrack, composed by Gjoll, leans into that heritage, wrapping the lighthouse in chiptune dread that suits its pixel-art presentation.

For horror fans, the Halloween launch was well timed, and the low price makes it an easy recommendation for a single evening’s play. The Switch release on November 19 means handheld players get their turn inside the lighthouse just a few weeks later.

Short, focused and built around atmosphere rather than jump scares, Beyond the Mist is a compact horror story for players who like their scares slow and strange. It is available now on PC via Steam, with the Nintendo Switch version arriving on November 19.
