Athanasia Unleashes Dinosaur Horror on PC, Out Now on Steam

Athanasia, the first-person horror game from Momentum Games LLC and publisher Black Lantern Collective, is out now on PC via Steam. The game blends first-person shooting with immersive sim design, drawing inspiration from classics such as System Shock and Dino Crisis.

Players step into the role of researcher Carmen Flores, sent to investigate a remote facility where something has gone badly wrong. The site has been overrun by dinosaurs, and what begins as a routine investigation quickly becomes a desperate fight to survive, with the truth about the facility buried somewhere inside.

Rather than charging in guns blazing, Athanasia rewards a careful approach. Players explore the facility, piece together what happened, craft supplies and slip past threats when ammunition and resources run scarce, which they often do.

Stealth, exploration and tense first-person combat sit at the heart of the experience, and every corridor holds a choice between fighting, hiding or finding another way through. Scavenged materials can be turned into the tools needed to keep moving.

The facility itself is a character in the story, a maze of labs, enclosures and service tunnels where the dinosaurs are not the only danger waiting in the dark. Every new room promises answers, and usually a fresh reason to run.

With its mix of prehistoric predators and immersive sim systems, Athanasia offers a distinctive take on survival horror, one that asks players to think as much as shoot. It is available now on PC via Steam.

For players who like their horror methodical rather than frantic, Athanasia’s blend of exploration, crafting and scarce resources makes every encounter a decision, and every decision one that could be your last.

Beyond the Mist Brings Its Cursed Lighthouse Horror to Steam, Switch Version on November 19

Beyond the Mist, the horror adventure from developer Yliader and publisher RAWRLAB Games, is out now on Steam. The game launched on October 31 priced at $5.99, with an introductory discount of 40 percent bringing it to $3.59 until November 7, and a Nintendo Switch version follows on November 19.

Players take the role of Arthur Webb, an aging lighthouse keeper trapped inside a cursed lighthouse. With the light failing and the mist closing in, Arthur has to find a way out of a place that no longer obeys the rules of the world outside.

Escape means searching the lighthouse room by room for items and clues, solving puzzles and making key decisions along the way. Those decisions matter: the story can end in three different ways, and not all of them lead Arthur safely out of the mist, so every choice is worth thinking about before it is made.

The game is a reimagining of the Game Boy title The Mist, rebuilt as a modern horror adventure while keeping the spirit of the original intact. Its 8-bit-style soundtrack, composed by Gjoll, leans into that heritage, wrapping the lighthouse in chiptune dread that suits its pixel-art presentation.

For horror fans, the Halloween launch was well timed, and the low price makes it an easy recommendation for a single evening’s play. The Switch release on November 19 means handheld players get their turn inside the lighthouse just a few weeks later.

Short, focused and built around atmosphere rather than jump scares, Beyond the Mist is a compact horror story for players who like their scares slow and strange. It is available now on PC via Steam, with the Nintendo Switch version arriving on November 19.
