Dominus Gladiatus Puts Your Ludus to the Test on November 5

Gladiators battling in a sandy arena before a cheering crowd in Dominus Gladiatus, with a Roman ship behind the arena.

Dominus Gladiatus, the brutal gladiator management simulation from developer Brain Seal Ltd and publisher PlayWay S.A., launches on November 5 for Xbox, PlayStation 5, PC and Nintendo Switch. Players take charge of their own Ludus, the gladiator school where fighters are bought, trained, equipped and prepared for the arena.

Recruits are purchased from slave markets, and each one arrives with his own strengths, weaknesses, temperament and price. From there it is up to the player to train and equip a stable of fighters, building a roster deep enough to survive everything the arena throws at it.

The management goes well beyond buying swords and sandals. Morale and injuries must be watched closely at all times, because a gladiator who is unhappy, hurt or exhausted will not perform when the crowd is watching, the emperor is judging and the sand is waiting.

When the arena gates open, combat plays out as auto-battler fights, where all of that careful preparation is put to the test in front of the crowd. Six rival Domini stand between the player and glory, each running their own school, guarding their own reputations and fielding their own fighters.

Everything builds toward a deadly 160-day tournament, a long and punishing campaign of fights where every victory raises a gladiator’s fame and value, and every defeat can end a career in front of thousands of spectators, or end something more permanent.

It is a game about hard choices as much as hard fighters: spend gold on a promising recruit or a veteran’s treatment, rest an injured star or risk him for the purse, and keep the whole school fed, motivated and alive.

That mix of hands-on management and hands-off arena combat makes for an unusual strategy experience, and simulation fans can test it for themselves when Dominus Gladiatus launches on November 5.

Beyond the Mist Brings Its Cursed Lighthouse Horror to Steam, Switch Version on November 19

Beyond the Mist, the horror adventure from developer Yliader and publisher RAWRLAB Games, is out now on Steam. The game launched on October 31 priced at $5.99, with an introductory discount of 40 percent bringing it to $3.59 until November 7, and a Nintendo Switch version follows on November 19.

Players take the role of Arthur Webb, an aging lighthouse keeper trapped inside a cursed lighthouse. With the light failing and the mist closing in, Arthur has to find a way out of a place that no longer obeys the rules of the world outside.

Escape means searching the lighthouse room by room for items and clues, solving puzzles and making key decisions along the way. Those decisions matter: the story can end in three different ways, and not all of them lead Arthur safely out of the mist, so every choice is worth thinking about before it is made.

The game is a reimagining of the Game Boy title The Mist, rebuilt as a modern horror adventure while keeping the spirit of the original intact. Its 8-bit-style soundtrack, composed by Gjoll, leans into that heritage, wrapping the lighthouse in chiptune dread that suits its pixel-art presentation.

For horror fans, the Halloween launch was well timed, and the low price makes it an easy recommendation for a single evening’s play. The Switch release on November 19 means handheld players get their turn inside the lighthouse just a few weeks later.

Short, focused and built around atmosphere rather than jump scares, Beyond the Mist is a compact horror story for players who like their scares slow and strange. It is available now on PC via Steam, with the Nintendo Switch version arriving on November 19.
