Pearl Abyss Announces Crimson Desert’s First DLC, Charting the Unknown, Launching October 15

Pearl Abyss has announced Charting the Unknown, the first downloadable content for its open-world action-adventure Crimson Desert, during Sony Interactive Entertainment’s State of Play showcase. The expansion launches worldwide on October 15 at 10 p.m. UTC, priced at €24.99 or £19.99, with pre-orders live now across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and the Epic Games Store. PlayStation and Xbox players who pre-order can take an additional 10 percent off for a limited time, and all pre-orders include two exclusive in-game items: the Charter’s Diving Set for Kliff and Oongka, and the Charter’s Light Diving Set for Damiane.

The expansion takes players beyond Pywel’s shores. For the first time, players can take command of their own ship and set sail across the ocean to explore uncharted islands and discover what lies beyond the familiar coastlines. Beneath the waves, they can uncover underwater treasures, sunken ruins and hidden mysteries, opening new paths for exploration, while new threats above and below the surface promise some of the game’s most demanding battles yet.

Life in Pywel gets deeper as well. The DLC upgrades the housing mode, letting players create and customise a home that reflects their own tastes, and adds the ability to rent and manage a variety of facilities to grow their fortune and build deeper bonds with the people of Pywel. New stories unfold across the continent, spanning an ominous presence in the desert, a dangerous political conflict, a journey beyond time and an ancient secret beneath the waves, as Kliff, Oongka and Damiane each forge their own paths forward.

Crimson Desert, built on Pearl Abyss’s proprietary engine, follows Greymane Kliff after a devastating night ambush by the Black Bears leaves his comrades dead or scattered. Charting the Unknown is the Korean studio’s first major expansion for the game, and it arrives October 15.

One Piece: Grand Gourmet Serves Up a Restaurant Adventure With 400 Characters

The Straw Hat Crew is getting into the restaurant business. One Piece: Grand Gourmet, a restaurant-management simulation from developer Kairosoft and publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment, has launched worldwide for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PC via Steam, iOS and Android.

Players take charge of Baratie Number Two, the Straw Hat Crew’s floating eatery, with Sanji, the crew’s famously devoted cook, installed as head chef. In classic Kairosoft fashion, the game blends approachable management systems with deep customization: more than 400 One Piece characters appear as staff and customers, and over 200 decoration items let players design a restaurant that matches their own taste, from the layout of the dining room to the menu it serves.

The simultaneous worldwide launch is unusual for a licensed anime title, which often staggers Japanese and Western releases by weeks or months. Bandai Namco instead released Grand Gourmet globally on a single day across five platforms, bringing the game to console, PC and mobile audiences at once. On PC, the game is priced at €19.99 on Bandai Namco’s European store, with US pricing reported at $19.99.

Kairosoft has spent decades perfecting the cozy management sim, building a catalogue of pixel-art business games covering everything from game studios to hot springs resorts, and Grand Gourmet applies that formula to one of the biggest entertainment franchises in the world. For One Piece fans, the appeal is in the details: hundreds of familiar faces walking through the door of a restaurant you built, with Sanji running the kitchen the way only Sanji would.

One Piece: Grand Gourmet is available now on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Steam, the App Store and Google Play.
