PlayStation Store September Downloads: Wolverine Leads in the US, EA Sports FC 27 Tops Europe

PlayStation has published its September 2026 download charts, and the month’s two biggest launches split the world between them. Marvel’s Wolverine led the PlayStation 5 chart in the United States and Canada, while EA Sports FC 27 took the number one spot in Europe and second place in the US.

Wolverine launched on September 15 and climbed straight to the top of the American chart in its first month. EA Sports FC 27 arrived ten days later, on September 25, and still finished first in Europe and second in the US, an early sign of the football game’s global pull. NBA 2K27 placed third in the US, with horror title Halloween fourth in both regions and The Blood of Dawnwalker fifth in the US and third in Europe.

Sports games fill out the American top ten in force. Madden NFL 27 sits sixth, followed by Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Control Resonant, NHL 27 and College Football 27. Onimusha had moved its release up three weeks to September 4 and sold more than one million copies on its first day, and it placed seventh in both regions. Control Resonant, which launched September 24, finished eighth in the US and tenth in Europe.

The European chart shows its own flavor beyond FC 27 and Wolverine, with Grand Theft Auto V at fifth, Minecraft sixth and Onimusha: Way of the Sword seventh, while NBA 2K27 placed eighth. evergreen titles such as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Valheim and Resident Evil 4 also held places in both regions’ top twenties, and Minecraft Dungeons II charted in both territories ahead of its first full month.

September’s chart underlines how front-loaded the release calendar has become: nearly every position in the US top ten belongs to a game released within the month, with download momentum carrying straight into an October headlined by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.

Skyborne Survival Adventure ATMOSFAR Enters Steam Early Access on October 29

ATMOSFAR, the skyborne survival adventure from publisher Shueisha Games and Swedish developer Apog Labs, enters Steam Early Access on October 29, the publisher has confirmed, arriving on both Steam and the Epic Games Store. The game heads into launch with serious momentum behind it, having crossed 300,000 wishlists on Steam ahead of release.

Set across the skies of the alien planet Tycos, ATMOSFAR puts players in command of a fleet of Wasp vessels and a Cloud Cruiser, a mobile airbase that serves as home and headquarters. Play combines aerial exploration with resource management and ground-based expeditions, as players leave the safety of their fleet to explore the surface, gather what they need and bring it back to the skies. The whole adventure supports online co-op for two to four players, so crews can divide the flying, building and scavenging between them.

ATMOSFAR is the latest game from Apog Labs, the Malmö-based studio whose previous title was the airport management simulator Airport CEO, a game about keeping complex systems running smoothly under pressure. That background shows in ATMOSFAR’s structure, which treats the player’s fleet as a living operation to be managed, supplied and expanded rather than a simple vehicle.

Shueisha Games, the Tokyo-based publisher founded in 2022 by the company behind some of Japan’s biggest manga properties, continues to build its catalogue of distinctive independent titles with ATMOSFAR’s launch. The publisher has not yet announced a full release date, a final price or how long the Early Access period is expected to run, saying those details will come as development progresses. Early Access players can jump in from October 29.
