Toosii Returns With ‘Platinum Heart 2’

Published

on

Toosii has gone back to the name that built him. The singer-rapper released Platinum Heart 2 on Friday, October 23, returning to the Platinum Heart banner for a sequel project years in the making.

The announcement came straight from the artist himself. Toosii posted the date on his own Instagram — “PLATINUM HEART 2. 10.23.26.” — and counted down to release night with his fans, teasing “PROJECT DROPPING TONIGHT” in the final hours before the album arrived.

Sequels are a statement in themselves. By reviving the Platinum Heart title rather than starting a new chapter from scratch, Toosii is tying this release to the project that first put his melodic, heart-on-sleeve style in front of a national audience — and measuring the new music against the standard that name carries.

The timing put him in heavyweight company. Platinum Heart 2 landed on one of the most crowded release Fridays of the fall, alongside major albums across R&B, hip-hop, rock and Latin music — a slot artists take when they believe their project can hold its own in the noise.

Platinum Heart 2 is out now.

The long runway tells its own story. Toosii first posted the title and date in September — “PLATINUM HEART 2. 10.23.26.” — and let anticipation build for nearly two months before the midnight drop, a patient rollout for an artist whose fan base has always rewarded the personal records most. On release night he was back on his channels, phone in hand, telling fans simply: “Go get it.”

Teased in the months leading up to its release, “Jiggly Bow Bow” has been building anticipation ever since listeners first got a taste of what the two had up their sleeves. “Jiggly Bow Bow” extends what has become a remarkable run of collaborations between GloRilla and Sexyy Red. The pair first teamed up on “WHATCHU KNO ABOUT ME” from the Memphis native’s 2024 debut album, GLORIOUS, before reuniting on Tyler, The Creator’s GRAMMY-nominated “Sticky” later that year. They subsequently joined Monaleo on Summer Walker’s “Baller,” with Chris Brown bringing the dynamic duo together once more for May’s “Call Your Name.”

The multiplatinum recording artist continues to enjoy the success of her blockbuster debut album, GLORIOUS, which delivered the highest first-week sales for a female rapper on the Billboard 200 in 2024. Outside of music, GloRilla recently launched GloVerse, her on-demand marketplace giving consumers the ability to find and book verified beauty professionals.

With “Jiggly Bow Bow” slated to arrive next month, GloRilla and Sexyy Red are further cementing their places as two of hip-hop’s leading ladies.
