Alpharetta at Johns Creek: Raiders Make the Short Fulton County Trip on Friday Night

Alpharetta travels to Johns Creek on Friday night for a Fulton County region game, the kind of short trip that still carries a full road-game edge.

These are neighboring programs in the same county, and that familiarity shapes the night. There is no surprise about the opponent, the setting, or what is coming. Alpharetta’s Raiders have to win the game in the details: alignment, tackling, ball security, and finishing drives when they reach scoring range.

Johns Creek, at home, gets to set the terms early. A strong opening quarter can settle the home team and put the visitors under pressure to respond. In a region game this late in the season, neither side can afford to waste possessions, because the margin between winning and losing in Fulton County is often one turnover or one special teams play.

Expect a physical, careful start, with both teams feeling out where the advantage is. The team that adjusts better in the second half should take it. Alpharetta at Johns Creek kicks off Friday, October 30 at 7:30 p.m.

Riverdale at Mt. Zion: Raiders Visit the Bulldogs in a Clayton County Region Game

Riverdale travels to Mt. Zion on Friday night in Jonesboro, closing the Clayton County slate with a region game between two familiar opponents.

The Raiders go on the road knowing county games are rarely decided by reputation. Riverdale’s schedule shows a 51-8 loss to North Clayton earlier in October, the kind of result that tests a team’s response over the rest of a season. Friday is another chance to answer, and it has to start with the basics: block, tackle, and protect the football in a hostile building.

Mt. Zion, at home, controls the setting. The Bulldogs get the crowd, the routine, and the chance to make Riverdale play from behind. A home team in a region game wants exactly that script: score first, make the visitor chase, and let the defense play aggressive with a lead.

If Riverdale can survive the first quarter and turn this into a possession game, the Raiders give themselves a real chance on the road. If Mt. Zion starts fast, the home side will be hard to pull back. Riverdale at Mt. Zion kicks off Friday, October 30 at 7:30 p.m.
