North Springs at Stephenson: Spartans Face an 8-1 Jaguars Team in Stone Mountain

North Springs makes the trip to Stone Mountain on Friday night to face Stephenson, and the records tell the story of the challenge waiting there.

MaxPreps lists Stephenson at 8-1 and North Springs at 2-6 for this October 30 region meeting. The Jaguars have been one of the most consistent teams in the area this season, and at home they will expect to control the tempo from the opening kick. Stephenson’s job is to play like the favorite without playing careless football.

North Springs has to make this a four-quarter fight. That starts with protecting the ball and staying on schedule on offense. Short, productive drives keep a strong home team on the sideline and keep the score within reach. The Spartans also need their defense to tackle in space and avoid the quick strike that lets a game get away early.

If Stephenson starts fast, the home crowd and the momentum can make the night feel very long for a visiting team. If North Springs hangs around, late October pressure is real. North Springs at Stephenson kicks off Friday, October 30 at 7:00 p.m.

Riverdale at Mt. Zion: Raiders Visit the Bulldogs in a Clayton County Region Game

Riverdale travels to Mt. Zion on Friday night in Jonesboro, closing the Clayton County slate with a region game between two familiar opponents.

The Raiders go on the road knowing county games are rarely decided by reputation. Riverdale’s schedule shows a 51-8 loss to North Clayton earlier in October, the kind of result that tests a team’s response over the rest of a season. Friday is another chance to answer, and it has to start with the basics: block, tackle, and protect the football in a hostile building.

Mt. Zion, at home, controls the setting. The Bulldogs get the crowd, the routine, and the chance to make Riverdale play from behind. A home team in a region game wants exactly that script: score first, make the visitor chase, and let the defense play aggressive with a lead.

If Riverdale can survive the first quarter and turn this into a possession game, the Raiders give themselves a real chance on the road. If Mt. Zion starts fast, the home side will be hard to pull back. Riverdale at Mt. Zion kicks off Friday, October 30 at 7:30 p.m.
