Centennial at Marist: Knights Go to Atlanta to Face the War Eagles on Friday Night

Marist War Eagles players in navy jerseys surge off the line to pressure a field goal attempt during the Homecoming night game under the lights

Centennial travels to Marist on Friday night for a 7:30 p.m. region game in Atlanta, and the Knights bring some real results with them.

Centennial’s MaxPreps schedule shows wins this season over Dunwoody, at St. Pius X, and over Sprayberry in its most recent listed result on October 23. That is a team that has won different kinds of games, at home and on the road, against area opponents. The Knights will need that same flexibility at Marist, where the home team defends its field well and the margin for sloppy football is small.

Marist’s job at home is to make Centennial play a full four quarters. Control the tempo, protect the ball, and make the visitors drive long fields. A home team that stays patient can turn a region game into a test of discipline, and Centennial has to be ready to answer that test snap after snap.

This is a cross-county region night with no easy possessions in it. Centennial at Marist kicks off Friday, October 30 at 7:30 p.m. in Atlanta.

Riverdale at Mt. Zion: Raiders Visit the Bulldogs in a Clayton County Region Game

Riverdale travels to Mt. Zion on Friday night in Jonesboro, closing the Clayton County slate with a region game between two familiar opponents.

The Raiders go on the road knowing county games are rarely decided by reputation. Riverdale’s schedule shows a 51-8 loss to North Clayton earlier in October, the kind of result that tests a team’s response over the rest of a season. Friday is another chance to answer, and it has to start with the basics: block, tackle, and protect the football in a hostile building.

Mt. Zion, at home, controls the setting. The Bulldogs get the crowd, the routine, and the chance to make Riverdale play from behind. A home team in a region game wants exactly that script: score first, make the visitor chase, and let the defense play aggressive with a lead.

If Riverdale can survive the first quarter and turn this into a possession game, the Raiders give themselves a real chance on the road. If Mt. Zion starts fast, the home side will be hard to pull back. Riverdale at Mt. Zion kicks off Friday, October 30 at 7:30 p.m.
