Duluth at Peachtree Ridge: Duluth Goes to Suwanee to Face a 6-2 Home Team

Duluth travels to Peachtree Ridge on Friday night for a Gwinnett County matchup, with the home team bringing the stronger record into the game.

MaxPreps lists Peachtree Ridge at 6-2 and Duluth at 2-6 for October 30. In Gwinnett, that gap does not guarantee anything. These programs know each other, the travel is short, and familiarity tends to shrink the distance between records. Peachtree Ridge still has to earn it at home, drive by drive.

For Duluth, a road upset starts with the first quarter. The visitors need to avoid the early hole that forces an offense out of its plan. A methodical opening drive, a defensive stop, or a special teams play can change the feel of the night and put doubt into a favored home team.

Peachtree Ridge’s task is to play clean, physical football and not invite trouble. Protect the ball, finish drives, and let depth and home field tell over four quarters. Duluth at Peachtree Ridge kicks off Friday, October 30 at 7:00 p.m. in Suwanee.

Riverdale at Mt. Zion: Raiders Visit the Bulldogs in a Clayton County Region Game

Riverdale travels to Mt. Zion on Friday night in Jonesboro, closing the Clayton County slate with a region game between two familiar opponents.

The Raiders go on the road knowing county games are rarely decided by reputation. Riverdale’s schedule shows a 51-8 loss to North Clayton earlier in October, the kind of result that tests a team’s response over the rest of a season. Friday is another chance to answer, and it has to start with the basics: block, tackle, and protect the football in a hostile building.

Mt. Zion, at home, controls the setting. The Bulldogs get the crowd, the routine, and the chance to make Riverdale play from behind. A home team in a region game wants exactly that script: score first, make the visitor chase, and let the defense play aggressive with a lead.

If Riverdale can survive the first quarter and turn this into a possession game, the Raiders give themselves a real chance on the road. If Mt. Zion starts fast, the home side will be hard to pull back. Riverdale at Mt. Zion kicks off Friday, October 30 at 7:30 p.m.
