Genshin Impact Version 7.2 “Hour of Ruin” Launches November 4 in Snezhnaya

Teyvat’s seven nations are being called to one table. HoYoverse has announced Genshin Impact Version 7.2, “Hour of Ruin,” launching November 4 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, iOS and Android — an update that opens eastern Snezhnaya and pushes the game’s long-running story toward open crisis.

The new Archon Quest begins as the Nails of Retribution awaken and the Holy Soil phenomenon spreads. The Tsaritsa summons representatives of all seven nations to coordinate a response, and players will fight alongside the Archons and Neuvillette against a threat aimed at civilization itself. Completing the quest within the designated period grants 560 Primogems and ascension materials for the update’s new five-star.

Exploration centers on three locations: Novokitezhgrad, an underground city encased in Kresnik Kristall and reached by railway; Wingspan Peak; and Old Kitezhgrad, Snezhnaya’s first city, founded by the Belyi Tsar. Secret Tsarist Assignments scattered through the region reward a Snezhnaya-themed Wind Glider.

Two Electro characters join the roster. Mitya, a five-star Catalyst user, converts Superconduct into a new reaction, Stellar-Conduct, switches between off-field and on-field roles, and carries a detection device that reveals hidden paths in Snezhnaya. Valeriy, a four-star Sword user, provides shields and Electro damage boosts. Phase 1 pairs Mitya and Valeriy with a Furina rerun; Phase 2 returns Zibai and Linnea alongside a Chronicled Wish featuring Natlan characters.

The version’s main event lets players invite a free four-star character of their choice, and Miliastra Wonderland adds a masquerade-themed lobby and a free four-star cosmetic set.

Snezhnaya has been the destination Genshin’s story has pointed at for years. Version 7.2 is where the game stops pointing and arrives.

THE FINALS Season 12 “PRIME TIME” Rebuilds Destruction and Adds Solo Showdown

Published

THE FINALS has always sold itself on destruction, and Season 12 rebuilds the whole system. “PRIME TIME,” live now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, is the free-to-play game show shooter’s largest update since its 2023 launch, headlined by Gradual Destruction: buildings now bend, sag and partially collapse under damage instead of shattering on cue, while Blast Waves displace objects and deform walls, and smoke and toxic gas have been reworked to interact with the geometry they move through.

The season’s new mode is Solo Showdown, launching in beta as the game’s first dedicated solo tournament. Twelve contestants play three rounds drawn from eight rotating mini-modes — Blast Off!, Heavy Hitters, Boom Brawl, Slam-A-Rama, Sniper Standoff, Winch Wars, Turbo Tussle and One and Gunned — with the four lowest scorers eliminated after each of the first two rounds.

The game show itself gets smarter with Dynamic Commentary, also in beta: announcer Scotty now calls contestants out by name for standout plays such as team wipes and revive streaks, turning the broadcast layer into part of the reward.

Light players get a full new playstyle, the Infiltrator. True Sight reveals opponents through smoke, the Mimic Device disguises a contestant as an object, and the Translocator swaps the player’s position with a marked object. Balance shifts around it: Light builds gain 25 health and Heavy builds lose 25, compressing the gap between the outer classes.

Three arenas — Monaco, Seoul and Skyway Stadium — have been remastered, the HUD and Side Panel redesigned, and sponsor rewards rebuilt around Contracts; the VR currency has been removed entirely. A Frights Galore Halloween wheel covers the seasonal beat.

Three years in, Embark is not coasting on THE FINALS’ formula — PRIME TIME re-engineers the thing the game is famous for, and bets that better destruction keeps the show on air.
