eFootball Championship 2027 Triples Prize Pool and Expands World Finals Field

Published

on

Konami is putting serious money behind its football esport. The publisher has announced the eFootball Championship 2027 with a prize pool of $300,000 — triple the previous season’s $100,000 — and a World Finals field that grows from 16 to 24 players across the console and mobile divisions.

There are three routes to the finals. The Club Event track crowns representatives for eFootball’s partner clubs, which include FC Barcelona and Manchester United; the season’s first Club Event is the eFootball Championship 2027 FC Internazionale Milano. The Open track is exactly that — open to any player. Regional events form a third route into the bracket. Winners advance directly to the World Finals, set for summer 2027.

The Club Event carries a prize beyond the trophy. Club Final winners receive a trip to their partner club, an official match experience and a stadium tour — a reward structure that ties the esport directly to the real clubs its players represent. Strong finishes in the season’s three-round ranking event also earn ‘Show Time’ in-game rewards.

The scale behind the announcement explains the investment. Konami says eFootball has passed one billion downloads, and last season’s championship drew 45 million players worldwide into its events. Few esports can claim a qualifying pool of that size, and the expanded finals field is a direct response to it — more regions and more clubs now convert into more seats at the top table.

The eFootball Championship has quietly become one of the largest open competitions in gaming, running console and mobile as parallel top-level divisions rather than treating mobile as a side show. With a tripled prize pool and 24 finalists, the 2027 season is Konami’s clearest statement yet that it intends the series to be taken as a headline esport, not a promotional extra.

THE FINALS Season 12 “PRIME TIME” Rebuilds Destruction and Adds Solo Showdown

Published

THE FINALS has always sold itself on destruction, and Season 12 rebuilds the whole system. “PRIME TIME,” live now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, is the free-to-play game show shooter’s largest update since its 2023 launch, headlined by Gradual Destruction: buildings now bend, sag and partially collapse under damage instead of shattering on cue, while Blast Waves displace objects and deform walls, and smoke and toxic gas have been reworked to interact with the geometry they move through.

The season’s new mode is Solo Showdown, launching in beta as the game’s first dedicated solo tournament. Twelve contestants play three rounds drawn from eight rotating mini-modes — Blast Off!, Heavy Hitters, Boom Brawl, Slam-A-Rama, Sniper Standoff, Winch Wars, Turbo Tussle and One and Gunned — with the four lowest scorers eliminated after each of the first two rounds.

The game show itself gets smarter with Dynamic Commentary, also in beta: announcer Scotty now calls contestants out by name for standout plays such as team wipes and revive streaks, turning the broadcast layer into part of the reward.

Light players get a full new playstyle, the Infiltrator. True Sight reveals opponents through smoke, the Mimic Device disguises a contestant as an object, and the Translocator swaps the player’s position with a marked object. Balance shifts around it: Light builds gain 25 health and Heavy builds lose 25, compressing the gap between the outer classes.

Three arenas — Monaco, Seoul and Skyway Stadium — have been remastered, the HUD and Side Panel redesigned, and sponsor rewards rebuilt around Contracts; the VR currency has been removed entirely. A Frights Galore Halloween wheel covers the seasonal beat.

Three years in, Embark is not coasting on THE FINALS’ formula — PRIME TIME re-engineers the thing the game is famous for, and bets that better destruction keeps the show on air.
