Newsome hosts Blake on Friday night in Lithia to close the regular season, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. Newsome enters at 6-3 and Blake at 2-7, according to MaxPreps. Blake’s schedule page confirms the Yellow Jackets travel to Newsome for this October 30 matchup.

For Newsome, Friday is a chance to finish the regular season with a seventh win in front of its home crowd and take momentum into November. The Wolves will look to start fast, protect the football, and control the line of scrimmage. Blake, meanwhile, closes a difficult season with one more opportunity: play clean on the road, create a turnover or two, and give itself a chance in the second half.

Regular-season finales often come down to which team handles the moment better, especially for seniors playing their last regular-season game. Newsome will try to dictate tempo from the opening kickoff. Blake will try to extend drives and keep the Wolves’ offense on the sideline. Kickoff in Lithia is at 7:30 p.m.

Riverdale at Mt. Zion: Raiders Visit the Bulldogs in a Clayton County Region Game

Riverdale travels to Mt. Zion on Friday night in Jonesboro, closing the Clayton County slate with a region game between two familiar opponents.

The Raiders go on the road knowing county games are rarely decided by reputation. Riverdale’s schedule shows a 51-8 loss to North Clayton earlier in October, the kind of result that tests a team’s response over the rest of a season. Friday is another chance to answer, and it has to start with the basics: block, tackle, and protect the football in a hostile building.

Mt. Zion, at home, controls the setting. The Bulldogs get the crowd, the routine, and the chance to make Riverdale play from behind. A home team in a region game wants exactly that script: score first, make the visitor chase, and let the defense play aggressive with a lead.

If Riverdale can survive the first quarter and turn this into a possession game, the Raiders give themselves a real chance on the road. If Mt. Zion starts fast, the home side will be hard to pull back. Riverdale at Mt. Zion kicks off Friday, October 30 at 7:30 p.m.
