Lithonia at Tucker: Bulldogs Visit an 8-0 Tigers Team on Friday Night in DeKalb

Lithonia visits Tucker on Friday night, and the Bulldogs are walking into one of the toughest home assignments in DeKalb County this week.

Tucker reached 8-0 with a 41-2 win over Banneker, a start High School On SI noted was the Tigers’ best since 2012. That record was earned, not given, and it tells Lithonia exactly what kind of night this will be. The Tigers have handled their business week after week, and they will expect to do the same at home.

For Lithonia, the path is narrow but clear. The Bulldogs cannot afford a slow start, turnovers, or short fields handed to a team playing with that much confidence. They need long drives, a patient plan, and a defense that can get off the field on third down. One early score can settle a road team down and make a favorite work for everything.

Tucker, meanwhile, has to guard against looking past anybody. Unbeaten teams get every opponent’s best shot in late October. Lithonia at Tucker kicks off Friday, October 30 at 7:30 p.m., with the Tigers defending home field and the Bulldogs chasing a statement win.

Riverdale at Mt. Zion: Raiders Visit the Bulldogs in a Clayton County Region Game

Riverdale travels to Mt. Zion on Friday night in Jonesboro, closing the Clayton County slate with a region game between two familiar opponents.

The Raiders go on the road knowing county games are rarely decided by reputation. Riverdale’s schedule shows a 51-8 loss to North Clayton earlier in October, the kind of result that tests a team’s response over the rest of a season. Friday is another chance to answer, and it has to start with the basics: block, tackle, and protect the football in a hostile building.

Mt. Zion, at home, controls the setting. The Bulldogs get the crowd, the routine, and the chance to make Riverdale play from behind. A home team in a region game wants exactly that script: score first, make the visitor chase, and let the defense play aggressive with a lead.

If Riverdale can survive the first quarter and turn this into a possession game, the Raiders give themselves a real chance on the road. If Mt. Zion starts fast, the home side will be hard to pull back. Riverdale at Mt. Zion kicks off Friday, October 30 at 7:30 p.m.
