Lake Wales hosts Bartow on Friday night in a Polk County regular-season finale, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. Lake Wales enters at 7-1 and Bartow at 6-3, according to MaxPreps. Statewide Super 25 coverage also listed Lake Wales at 7-1 with a Week 11 home game against Bartow on October 30.

This is a meeting of two winning Polk County programs separated by a short trip, and finales between county opponents carry their own weight regardless of what comes next. Lake Wales will look to finish the regular season at home with an eighth win and take momentum into the playoffs. Bartow travels looking for a seventh win and a road result against a one-loss team.

For Bartow, the road formula is discipline: protect the football, control the clock, and make Lake Wales earn every score. For Lake Wales, Friday is about defending home field and closing a strong regular season the right way. Both teams’ seniors play their final regular-season game Friday night in Lake Wales, with kickoff at 7:30 p.m.

Riverdale at Mt. Zion: Raiders Visit the Bulldogs in a Clayton County Region Game

Riverdale travels to Mt. Zion on Friday night in Jonesboro, closing the Clayton County slate with a region game between two familiar opponents.

The Raiders go on the road knowing county games are rarely decided by reputation. Riverdale’s schedule shows a 51-8 loss to North Clayton earlier in October, the kind of result that tests a team’s response over the rest of a season. Friday is another chance to answer, and it has to start with the basics: block, tackle, and protect the football in a hostile building.

Mt. Zion, at home, controls the setting. The Bulldogs get the crowd, the routine, and the chance to make Riverdale play from behind. A home team in a region game wants exactly that script: score first, make the visitor chase, and let the defense play aggressive with a lead.

If Riverdale can survive the first quarter and turn this into a possession game, the Raiders give themselves a real chance on the road. If Mt. Zion starts fast, the home side will be hard to pull back. Riverdale at Mt. Zion kicks off Friday, October 30 at 7:30 p.m.
