Dwyer at Wellington: Panthers Visit Wolverines to Close Regular Season

Dwyer visits Wellington on Friday night to close the regular season. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m., according to the Palm Beach Post Week 11 schedule.

The Post lists Dwyer at 4-5 and Wellington at 5-4 for this Friday, Oct. 30 matchup. MaxPreps’ Dwyer page lists the same next game, Dwyer at Wellington on Oct. 30 at 6:30 p.m., with Dwyer at 4-5 and Wellington at 5-4 and a Preview Game designation.

The records make the math simple for both teams. Wellington can finish with six wins and a winning regular season by protecting its home field. Dwyer can finish at 5-5 and reach .500 by winning on the road, which would be a meaningful close for a team that enters one game under that mark.

No venue beyond the home school, district stake or player statistics were stated for this matchup in the schedule sources checked, so none are included here. What is verified is the date, the 6:30 p.m. start, the home and away teams and the records as published for Oct. 30.

This is the kind of finale that decides how a season is described afterward. One of these Palm Beach County programs finishes as a winning team or a .500 team on Friday night, and the other finishes under .500. Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m. in Wellington.

Riverdale at Mt. Zion: Raiders Visit the Bulldogs in a Clayton County Region Game

Riverdale travels to Mt. Zion on Friday night in Jonesboro, closing the Clayton County slate with a region game between two familiar opponents.

The Raiders go on the road knowing county games are rarely decided by reputation. Riverdale’s schedule shows a 51-8 loss to North Clayton earlier in October, the kind of result that tests a team’s response over the rest of a season. Friday is another chance to answer, and it has to start with the basics: block, tackle, and protect the football in a hostile building.

Mt. Zion, at home, controls the setting. The Bulldogs get the crowd, the routine, and the chance to make Riverdale play from behind. A home team in a region game wants exactly that script: score first, make the visitor chase, and let the defense play aggressive with a lead.

If Riverdale can survive the first quarter and turn this into a possession game, the Raiders give themselves a real chance on the road. If Mt. Zion starts fast, the home side will be hard to pull back. Riverdale at Mt. Zion kicks off Friday, October 30 at 7:30 p.m.
