Dillard at Plantation: Panthers Visit Colonels in Broward Finale

Dillard visits Plantation on Friday night to close the regular season. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m., according to the MaxPreps Florida schedule page for Friday, Oct. 30.

MaxPreps lists Dillard at 5-4 and Plantation at 2-7 on that schedule page. Plantation is the home team in this matchup, and Dillard is the visiting team.

The records set up a clear final-week picture. Dillard enters with a winning record and a chance to finish with six wins, which would give the Panthers a stronger close to the regular season. Plantation enters with two wins and gets its last published game at home, with a chance to end the season with a result that changes how the year is remembered.

No venue beyond the home school, district stake or player statistics were stated for this matchup in the schedule source checked, so none are included here. What is verified is the date, the 7 p.m. start, the home and away teams and the records as published by MaxPreps for Oct. 30.

Broward County finales between familiar programs rarely need extra selling. Dillard makes the trip, Plantation defends its home field, and one of them closes Friday night with the win both teams want from the last game on the schedule.

Riverdale at Mt. Zion: Raiders Visit the Bulldogs in a Clayton County Region Game

Riverdale travels to Mt. Zion on Friday night in Jonesboro, closing the Clayton County slate with a region game between two familiar opponents.

The Raiders go on the road knowing county games are rarely decided by reputation. Riverdale’s schedule shows a 51-8 loss to North Clayton earlier in October, the kind of result that tests a team’s response over the rest of a season. Friday is another chance to answer, and it has to start with the basics: block, tackle, and protect the football in a hostile building.

Mt. Zion, at home, controls the setting. The Bulldogs get the crowd, the routine, and the chance to make Riverdale play from behind. A home team in a region game wants exactly that script: score first, make the visitor chase, and let the defense play aggressive with a lead.

If Riverdale can survive the first quarter and turn this into a possession game, the Raiders give themselves a real chance on the road. If Mt. Zion starts fast, the home side will be hard to pull back. Riverdale at Mt. Zion kicks off Friday, October 30 at 7:30 p.m.
