Palm Beach Central at Palm Beach Gardens: Broncos Visit Gators in County Finale

Palm Beach Central visits Palm Beach Gardens on Friday night to close the regular season. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m., according to both schools’ schedules on MaxPreps and the Palm Beach Post Week 11 schedule.

MaxPreps lists Palm Beach Central at 6-3 and Palm Beach Gardens at 3-6 on its Florida schedule page for Friday, Oct. 30. Central’s schedule lists the game as at Palm Beach Gardens, and Gardens’ schedule lists the same game as vs. Palm Beach Central, both at 6:30 p.m. with a Preview Game designation.

Central enters with the stronger record and a chance to finish with seven wins. Gardens enters at home with a chance to finish a difficult season with a win over a winning county opponent, which would be its fourth win of the year.

No venue beyond the home school, district stake or player statistics were stated for this matchup in the schedule sources checked, so none are included here. What is verified is the date, the 6:30 p.m. start, the home and away teams and the records as published for Oct. 30.

Palm Beach County finales between two large public school programs tend to be physical and close, whatever the records say. Central brings the better mark into Gardens on Friday night. The Gators get the last word at home if they can earn it.

Riverdale at Mt. Zion: Raiders Visit the Bulldogs in a Clayton County Region Game

Riverdale travels to Mt. Zion on Friday night in Jonesboro, closing the Clayton County slate with a region game between two familiar opponents.

The Raiders go on the road knowing county games are rarely decided by reputation. Riverdale’s schedule shows a 51-8 loss to North Clayton earlier in October, the kind of result that tests a team’s response over the rest of a season. Friday is another chance to answer, and it has to start with the basics: block, tackle, and protect the football in a hostile building.

Mt. Zion, at home, controls the setting. The Bulldogs get the crowd, the routine, and the chance to make Riverdale play from behind. A home team in a region game wants exactly that script: score first, make the visitor chase, and let the defense play aggressive with a lead.

If Riverdale can survive the first quarter and turn this into a possession game, the Raiders give themselves a real chance on the road. If Mt. Zion starts fast, the home side will be hard to pull back. Riverdale at Mt. Zion kicks off Friday, October 30 at 7:30 p.m.
